French Music Legends Magma To Perform With The Mëtalïk Orkestra At The Olympia In Paris – February 2 & 3, 2017!

Paris, France – Bands and trends might come and go, but some of it is meant to stay. Far beyond a mere jolt to the music world or a fad phenomenon, Magma imposed themselves as early as the 1970’s thanks to their unconventional and cliché-free approach to music. An unparalleled music, which is as violent as it is clever. Founded by drummer and singer Christian Vander, the band quickly set itself apart from its contemporaries through heavy and ruthless polyrhythmic beats. With a wide range of contemporary musical greats at his side, Vander remains a fine mentor from the likes of Miles Davis.

Since its reunion in 1996, the band has gone on several tours, always followed by its ever-growing and loyal fan base, and attracting an increasingly young audience! The cult band celebrated its 40th anniversary with the release of two Classical influenced bright new albums in 2009 and 2012. For their 45th anniversary, Magma is back with two new opuses respectively titled “Riah Sahiltaahk” and “Slag Tanz”, as well as a vinyl reissue of their whole discography. Since 2015, the band has been on a worldwide tour called “Le Tour Sans Fin”. Magma’s music is timeless.

At the Olympia, Magma will be supported by the Mëtalïk Orkestra, a new creation project. The ensemble will be performing selections from their extensive catalog including Emehntehtt-Ré and Slag Tanz. The orchestra is composed by 27 CMDL students (Didier Lockwood’s music school) and from the PSPBB of Paris.

Magma in concert on February 2nd and 3rd at the Olympia in Paris.

Audio Fidelity Inks Licensing Deal With Will Ackerman’s West River Records

Ackerman’s Grammy winning “Returning” coming on 180g vinyl for the 1st time!

Camarillo, CA – Marshall Blonstein, president of Audio Fidelity is pleased to announce an agreement with Will Ackerman and his West River Records. The agreement calls for Audio Fidelity, in conjunction with West River Records, to release the first 180g vinyl pressing of Ackerman’s 2005 Grammy award winning recording, “Returning: Pieces for Guitar 1970-2004.” Ackerman is universally recognized as the preeminent pioneer in the new age music movement, and the founder of Windham Hill Records.

In 2004, after years of growth and introspection, Ackerman re-recorded an album of his best-known songs. A greatest hits collection of all new performances. The playing and recording of these New Age instrumentals are sharper now than on those original Windham Hill classics and Ackerman’s most popular compositions have rarely sounded as poignant.

Blonstein felt one of the elements of working with Will Ackerman that would have great appeal to Audio Fidelity’s music fans were simple words Will spoke at the time of the recording about why he wanted to make the album. “Today I’m recording in my own Imaginary Road Studios in Windham County, Vermont on utterly state of the art digital equipment. It all brings me closer to what I hear as I sit alone and play; touching the sound as it literally moves through my body as well as my ears. I guess I am trying to find a sound that lets you hear what I hear.”

Will’s goal was to take a series of 11 favorite songs and record them for posterity in a way that reflects the emotional nuances, precision, and maturing beauty they’ve picked up along the road. He includes the graceful and lushly melodic “The Bricklayer’s Beautiful Daughter,” the sweet and melancholy “Anne’s Song”, and two peaceful early gems from 1970, “Pictures” and “Barbara’s Song.” Some were written as celebrations (“Unconditional”), others as elegies (“The Impending Death of the Virgin Spirit”), but all are intricate snapshots of a vastly influential musical life that keeps inventive to this day.

Anne’s Song
The Impending Death of the Virgin Spirit

Side 2

Burnt Belief, Multifaceted Instrumental Band Feat. Porcupine Tree Member, To Release Third Installment of Trilogy: “Emergent”

Burnt Belief, Multifaceted Instrumental Band Feat. Porcupine Tree Member, To Release Third Installment of Trilogy: “Emergent”

Boston, MA – Inspired by the unspoken and hidden truths behind our daily reality, “Emergent” is the third in a trilogy of collaborative works by bassist Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree/Metallic Taste of Blood/O.R.k etc) and experimental US guitarist Jon Durant, under the working name Burnt Belief.

“Emergent” builds on the duo’s previous work whilst still exploring the fundamental aspects that define Burnt Belief’s sonic world, namely hypnotic rhythmic elements seamlessly blended with lush guitar led soundscapes and deep ambient atmospherics. “Emergent” also showcases the intense and unpredictable, yet satisfying guitar playing from Durant, who manages to tame elemental, skittish and frequently unsettling tones, by subtly wrapping them in layers of magnetic aura. Drumming throughout is Vinny Sabatino, who brings an inventive, muscular and precise beat to complement Colin Edwin’s expansive and expressive fretless and upright basses.

Says Jon Durant, “One of the things that makes Burnt Belief unique in the world of instrumental progressive rock/fusion oriented musics is that we are not at all focused on displays of chops, but rather focus on trying to tell stories through the music. The title, ‘Emergent’, is a reference to the theory that consciousness is an emergent property of a functioning neurosystem. Colin and I both share a fascination with how the mind works and the ways that hidden processes and background information can subtly influence more obvious conscious thoughts without our being aware of it. Similarly, throughout the album, there are very subtle background elements that have in some way directly informed the bigger picture of the compositions.”

Colin Edwin adds, “With instrumental music, any meaning is obviously less explicit than when lyrics are present, but as we neared completion of the album, it became apparent to me that the majority of pieces on ‘Emergent’ have elements of unresolved tension or darker moments somewhere below the surface. Something I have noticed more and more is that there are many seemingly straightforward things which, on closer inspection, turn out to be really quite complex and insoluble, and I have started thinking of the album as bringing out the feeling of suddenly seeing more than you expected and having an expanded view coming into focus. This expanded view isn’t necessarily optimistic however, so for me the image of an aggressive looking insect appearing inside a pretty looking flower on the cover is perfect.”

“Emergent” amply rewards repeated listens, unveiling it’s layered coalescence of antithetical components gradually, such as the discordant conversational flexes between upright bass and electronic percussion during “Until the Stars Go Out”, or the measured rhythmic resolution during “Confidence of Ignorance”. The nine and half minute title track, which unfolds gradually and explores an unhurried yet palpable tension, is a thought provoking meditation on the unstoppable changes around us all, “Emergent” is a genre defying journey for intrepid listeners keen to explore new musical territories.

Packaged in a cardboard sleeve pack with a four page booklet.

Tracklisting:
1. The Bubble Bursts (6.02)
2. More Snow (6.10)
3. The Confidence of Ignorance (5.06)
4. Emergent (9.32)
5. Until the Stars Go Out (6.26)
6. Language of Movement (7.01)
7. Turning Torso (10.11)
8. Ghosts Aquatic (6.21)

Guitarist Jon Durant brings a unique sense of texture and melody to his instrument. His distinctive “cloud guitar” soundscapes and engaging lead work have graced numerous CD recordings and film soundtracks. As executive producer of Alchemy Records, he produces recordings for internationally acclaimed artists in his small home studio. Alongside Durant’s records, Alchemy has released albums by artists Michael Manring, Gary Willis, Leni Stern/Wayne Krantz and others.

Colin Edwin is best known as founder member and bassist of the internationally successful , long time progressive rock favourites Porcupine Tree. Outside of Porcupine Tree, as well as solo work and various guest spots, Colin’s unique and creative bass playing have lead him to collaborate frequently with like minded and inventive musicians, including (former Henry Cow) multi – instrumentalist and reed player Geoff Leigh (as Ex-Wise Heads), fellow bassist Lorenzo Feliciati in the critically acclaimed duo Twinscapes, and most recently Endless Tapes with drummer Alessandro Pedretti. Colin is also a member of the intense and genre defying band Metallic Taste of Blood, with two albums to date on Rarenoise Records, as well as playing and recording with metal pioneers Obake. In 2015 he formed the band O.R.k. alongside King Crimson drummer Pat Mastelotto, vocalist LEF and guitarist Carmelo Pipitone from Italy’s cult “anti-folk” band Marta Sui Tubi. 2016 has so far seen Euro and South American dates with O.R.k. and also the release of Colin’s adventurous collaboration (as Astarta/Edwin) with top Ukrainian female vocal duo Astarta, drawing heavily but expanding on their earthy Slavic folk roots.

Vinny Sabatino is a first call drummer from Boston, best known for his funky grooves. He’s recorded and performed extensively with Jon Durant, as well as with a wide range of artists including current Santana lead vocalist Ray Greene, multiple Grammy winning producer Jeff Bhasker, film composer Michael Whalen and folk artist Porter Smith. His band, Nightshift, is the most in demand band in Boston, and features vocalist (and winner of The Voice) Jermaine Paul, Bassist Barron Browne (Jean Luc Ponty, Steve Smith, Billy Cobham).

In closing Jon has this to impart, “Most importantly, I’d like listeners to actively listen with an open mind. Good speakers or headphones are a particular plus, as there’s a lot going on that’s worth paying attention to. Our music can take you on a very compelling journey if you’re willing to let it.”

Colin adds, “I always believe that people will find their own relationship with any piece of art, music, book or film and it’s usually more powerful and meaningful that way, so any messages usually work best when they are to be uncovered and discovered rather than being upfront. If we have successfully created an all encompassing ‘sound world’ that takes people somewhere else when they hear it, I consider it a success. After all, doesn’t music exist to express what words can’t?”

The Security Project Feat. King Crimson & Peter Gabriel Members with Special Guest Happy Rhodes To Tour USA October/November 2016

For Immediate Release

The Security Project Feat. King Crimson & Peter Gabriel Members with Special Guest Happy Rhodes To Tour USA October/November 2016

Austin, TX – When Jerry Marotta or Trey Gunn has an idea often it is a good one. But when they have the same good idea at the same time it promises to be a great one. This was the case when they turned to each other and said: “Happy Rhodes. The Security Project should do something with Happy Rhodes.”

This is exactly what is happening with the fall tour. Happy Rhodes is an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and electronic musician with a four-octave vocal range. She has produced 11 solo recordings. Marotta and Gunn play on a several of them.

With the addition of Happy on lead vocals, The Security Project is able to dig deeper into Gabriel’s material and take it even further (imagine Kate Bush singing Gabriel tunes with The Security Project as the instrumentalists.) Marotta says “Happy brings with her the chance to play other material we have always talked about doing. Stuff from David Sylvian, Kate Bush and other gems from Trey’s and my past work, addition to Happy’s catalog. We are excited!”

This October also sees the release of “Live 2” – the follow up to their highly acclaimed Live 1. Meticulously engineered by guitarist Michael Cozzi (mastering engineer Chris Athens calls it one of the best mixed live records he has ever worked on) the reviews have been overwhelming positive.

“The Security Project expertly reimagines Peter Gabriel’s groundbreaking early output, creating an immersive experience both in performance and on its debut release Live 1. The group goes far beyond conventional tribute band territory, infusing the songs with new arrangements and elements while staying true to the spirit of the material. Gabriel enthusiasts across the board will be taken by the band’s high-octane approach full of drive, determination and energy.” – Anil Prasad, Innerviews

“The Security Project Live is a beautifully reverential and creative reinterpretation of these Peter Gabriel classics!” – Kevin Killen, engineer of Gabriel’s “So” record

“What Security Project does is accomplish what’s been too long in coming: positioning Peter Gabriel’s music as repertoire. It’s clear that while the band treats Gabriel’s music with no shortage of reverence, it’s also about a more open-ended approach to the music.” – John Kelman, All About Jazz

“Somehow, like Gabriel, the Security Project’s performance strikes the right esoteric balance between the tribal groove of world music and the inscrutable logic of the best progressive rock.” – Peter Lindblad, Elmore Magazine

The Security Project sees this fall tour as a move into a new phase of the band’s life. These exquisite players – with their rich history of working with King Crimson, Shriekback and Gabriel’s original band – see bringing in a female vocalist, with the musicianship of Rhodes, as a way to step even deeper into the material and expand what the band can bring to the stage.

Trey says, “I’ve known Happy for many years – her husband, percussionist Bob Muller, was my key partner in The Trey Gunn Band. I have always hoped to find the right situation where we could work together. This is it. I’m thrilled that we can now draw on a broader base of material. Jerry and I speak almost daily about pieces we could do with her. Of course, we will be hitting Gabriel’s material solidly, but with the addition of even newer fresh twists.”

The follow up to their acclaimed first CD, “Live 2”, comes out in mid-October on 7d Media in the USA, GEP Records in Europe and WowWow in Japan.

The Security Project:
Michael Cozzi – Guitar, Backing Vocals
David Jameson – Keyboards, Eigenharp
Happy Rhodes – Lead Vocals
Trey Gunn – Touch Guitar, Backing Vocals
Jerry Marotta – Drums & Percussion, Backing Vocals

Trey Gunn
A native Texan who resides in Seattle, Gunn is known for the unusual 10-string touch guitar that he plays. From the blistering live recordings at the Royal Albert Hall in London with David Sylvian and Robert Fripp (“Damage”, Virgin Records) to ten years recording and touring with King Crimson – a group many contend as the most aggressively, adventurous rock band of all time – Gunn is associated with a constant stream of cutting edges projects. Gunn has toured and/or recorded with TOOL, John Paul Jones, Maynard J. Keenan’s “Puscifer”, Vernon Reid, Azam Ali, David Hykes of the Harmonic Choir and Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree. Happy Rhodes
An American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and electronic musician with a four-octave vocal range. Rhodes cites Wendy Carlos, Kate Bush, Queen, Yes, David Bowie, Bach and Peter Gabriel as primary influences. She has been featured on Morning Becomes Eclectic (KCRW in Santa Monica, CA), the syndicated radio shows Echoes and The World Cafe.

Michael Cozzi
Originally from Wales & London, Cozzi got his start in the mid 80’s as the guitarist for the group Shriekback which had the pleasure of touring with “Simple Minds” “INXS” and “Peter Gabriel”. In the early 90’s, Cozzi joined “Sky Cries Mary” with whom he co wrote 5 albums and toured extensively. During this time Cozzi opened up his recording studio “Moscozzi Studio” where he co-wrote and produced the last two SCM albums “Here and Now” and “Small Town”. He has written and produced music for bands, films, commercials, and video games, which let to him meeting and working with Trey Gunn. Two years ago Trey asked Cozzi if he knew of a guitarist for The Security Project, Cozzi put his hand up like a kid in the classroom and said “me me me”.

David Jameson
Keyboardist/Eigenharpist David Jameson began his music career in the late 1970’s – the heyday of powerful keyboard players. He spent several years touring with Time Machine and then left the music scene for a career at IBM after completing a PHD in Computer Science at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. At IBM, Jameson created and managed the Computer Music Research group and was elected to the prestigious IBM Academy of Technology. David left IBM to found Digiportal Software and Deskew Technologies that develops the acclaimed Scorecerer sheet music manager application for the iPad. He also designs MaxMSP applications and libraries for live performance and for the Eigenharp – an electronic hybrid instrument akin to a computerized bassoon that features heavily in The Security Project shows. In addition to working with The Security Project, David also performs with Beyond The Wall.

What’s being said about The Security Project:

“Great to see some of the original members doing it the right way.” – Steve Hackett

“A Scary Good Show!” – Progression Magazine

“Sound as good — at times maybe better — than even Gabriel nowadays.”– Time Out, NYC

“King Crimson’s Trey Gunn brilliantly injects a wicked warp to Gabriel’s melodic weave.”– G.A.S. Online

“TSP are a mind-blowing amalgam of disparate musical brilliance!” – Gabriel Researcher/Lilywhite Leigh

“Peter Gabriel wrote some of the finest most profound songs of his generation. The Security Project brings them to life with an authenticity that goes beyond mimicking the original recordings. They find the emotional core.” – Glenn Hughes

Prog Legends Gong To Release New Studio Album “Rejoice! I’m Dead!”

gongcover_rejoice-im-dead-med-res

For Immediate Release

Prog Legends Gong To Release New Studio Album “Rejoice! I’m Dead!”

Their first album since the death of Daevid Allen – Released on Madfish September 16, 2016!

London, UK – Some say it couldn’t, or shouldn’t, be done. How could Gong exist without Daevid Allen? A few minutes into listening to the title track of their brand new album, “Rejoice!”, aspersions will be cast aside. It is undeniably Gong

Gong have had many, many line-ups. Formed when Australian beatnik/freak Daevid Allen quit The Soft Machine and moved to France at the tail end of the ’60s, before debuting in 1970 with Magick Brother, the band have remained fluid, even playing without their founder from the mid-to-late ’70s, fracturing and reassembling and constantly taking on new shapes and forms: an undeniably amorphous unit. David Bowie told Vanity Fayre in 2003 that Daevid Allen’s Banana Moon is one of his favorite albums, and today everyone from indie artists Temples and Ty Segall to hip hop artist Madlib and techno DJ Surgeon are inspired, and borrow, from Gong’s music and ideology. The funky grooves, avant-garde flourishes and counter-cultural stance is timeless. So timeless that Gong fully exists even without their creator and guiding light. For those who are unaware Daevid Allen died in March 2015.

“I have been co-presenting The Interesting Alternative Show with Steve Davis for the last six years or so,” begins the story of how Gong’s new singer/guitarist Kavus Torabi met Daevid. “In 2011, Steve rang up excitedly saying ‘You’ll never guess who we’ve got as a guest next week… Daevid Allen.’ I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I’d met Daevid briefly a couple of times with Tim Smith (Cardiacs) but never properly. As a lifelong Gong lover, this filled me with delight. Straight away the two of us seemed to really click, within minutes the conversation had taken a turn for the absurd and I was more than a little flattered when he told me, after about an hour, ‘You’re a poet man, I can tell.’

“Over the forthcoming months we would text each other on a fairly regular basis, whenever Daevid was in town playing a gig he’d get in touch to see if I wanted to come along. ‘I’ve been thinking about this a lot,’ he told me, ‘Do you want to play guitar in Gong?’ This came somewhat out of the blue. ‘But you’ve never actually heard me play, Daevid’ I told him. ‘I don’t need to,’ he replied. ‘I felt the same way about Mike Howlett when I met him too and I’m never wrong about this stuff.’ Of course I said ‘Yes’ instantly. ‘You know, I can’t play like Steve Hillage,’ I told him. His response was priceless ‘I don’t care about what you can’t do, I care about what you can do.’

“Since being a teenager, I have often come up with riffs that, while I loved them, had to be shelved because I always felt they sounded a little TOO much like Gong. One of which I started playing. Daevid got up and started improvising lyrics and melodies over the top, his beautiful eyes twinkling. This would become ‘When God Shakes Hands With The Devil (from I See You).’ ‘Wow Kav!’ Daevid said afterwards, ‘Got any more like that?’ Realizing that 20 years or so of shelved riffs had not gone to waste, I blurted out ‘Yeah! Loads!’

Kavus joined Gong in 2014 in time for the last album the “new” band made with Daevid, “I See You,” unaware of the direction his new gig as a guitar player would take. “It was shortly after our Brazilian tour in March 2014 that, following a broken arm, Daevid told us that he had been diagnosed with cancer and would be unable to fulfill the 47 date world tour that had been booked to promote (the album). To my, and I guess all of our, minds there was no question that he would beat this thing. The most enlightened and switched on guy I ever knew, with light shooting out of every pore, he seemed indomitable. Nonetheless, he started making noises about how he wished the band to continue without him. I think everyone in the band felt ambivalent about this, particularly as we watched the majority of the gigs get canceled upon news that he was too unwell to fulfill them. I certainly had no desire to front it. I have my own band Knifeworld in which I play this role. We did, however, have a new album to promote, so we reluctantly agreed to play the remaining shows and bow out gracefully after that. Each night we sent Daevid recordings or links to YouTube footage and, from his sick bed in Australia, he wrote gushing praise about what had happened to the band and how this was exactly what he had hoped. By the end of the tour and with the full blessing of Daevid we decided to carry on.

“ ‘Rejoice! I’m Dead!’ came together over several weeks in an East London rehearsal studio. In terms of the writing, the songs became very elastic, what may have been brought to the band as a fixed idea, through experimenting, discarding, expanding and mutating evolved into the songs as you hear them now. Every member was key in the development of each song,” closes Kavus. Thus, Kavus (vocals/guitar), Fabio Golfetti (guitar/vocals), Dave Sturt (bass/vocals), Ian East (sax/flute) and Cheb Nettles (drums/vocals) took on the mantle of steering the Teapot further into outer space and the inner ear.

On the album you’ll also notice the voice of Daevid in an early song idea rehearsal, along with Gong alumni Steve Hillage, Didier Malherbe and Graham Clark. Fans of the “Virgin trilogy” won’t be let down!

In the words of bassist Dave Sturt: “You bet it’s a Gong record!”

It depends on your knowledge of Gong history and what constitutes as a Gong record, but if “Rejoice! I’m Dead!” is classified as their 28th album the Gong legacy is the strongest it has been since 1974. Consider the differences between “Angel’s Egg,” “Gazeuse!,” “Floating Anarchy” and “I See You,” the various splinter projects and collectives… what is it that make Gong who they are? Their spontaneity and numerous Phoenix-like rebirths – this is just the latest installment. Nothing more, nothing less. New members and old coalesce, the sound unmistakably Gong.

Even without Daevid Allen Gong will continue ….. And long may it do so.

Alternative Rockers Lunden Reign Release Poignant New Single & Video
“Red Wagon (Can’t Return To Yesterday)”

Los Angeles – Lunden Reign’s recent CrueFest concert at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood proved to be yet another powerhouse show. While sharing the stage with heavy hitters L.A. Story, Westfield Massacre and Blacklist Union, Nikki & Laura along with bassist Matt Denis, Julian Tomarin (guitar) and Matt Lucich (drums) brought that unmistakable Lunden Reign vibe to the Whisky and the packed house it entertained.

Their set rocked out with 4 brand new songs set to release on their upcoming album including the title track “Confessions” and “Red Wagon”. Nikki wooed those packed tight up to the stage with “Stardust Daze” and topped it off with the edgy and environmentally charged “Fate of the World”, bringing tears to the eyes of several fans.

Their just released first single and video “Red Wagon (Can’t Return To Yesterday)” is the first of 10 songs from “Confessions”. Both the song and video have been submitted and accepted for Grammy consideration in “BEST VIDEO” and “BEST NEW SINGLE” categories.

Says Nikki, “I’m really thrilled about this next record. “Red Wagon” is a powerhouse, and a couple of the other songs hit me super hard which makes them easy to perform emotionally. I hope that what we did at the Whisky recently will transcend into the studio – performances like that are what I hope to share with our fans. If you close your eyes and listen, if you feel like your with us, then I’ve done my job as the lead singer.”

Early reviews are already raving that it is clear Lunden Reign is stepping it up yet another notch:

From RAY SHASHO (Classic Rock Hear & Now Radio):
“ ‘Red Wagon (Can’t Return to Yesterday)’ by Lunden Reign is by far the best song and music video to date by one of the finest bands to arrive on the rock music scene since the 90’s. Nikki & Laura Lunden are a seductive badass duo liberating rock to its glory days. Laura’s proficient songwriting and masterful electric licks are driven by Nikki’s amazing vocals and intensity. The girls acquired a similar musical brilliance and tenacity as legends… Heart, Joan Jett, The Bangles, The Go Go’s and Letters to Cleo. And if ‘Red Wagon (Can’t Return to Yesterday)’ is an indication of even better things to come, than their new album to be release at the end of this year entitled ‘Confessions’ should be epic! The song and video are up for Grammy consideration in ‘BEST VIDEO’ and ‘BEST NEW SINGLE’… They’ve got my vote, I truly love this band!”

From CHRIS C. (Bloody Good Music Reviewer):
“Coming off the success of their fantastic debut album, Lunden Reign’s new single, ‘Red Wagon (Can’t Return To Yesterday)’, continues their establishment as one of the best classic rock bands of recent years. With powerful and delicate guitars that are pure rock and roll, and a rousing chorus delivered with Nikki Lunden’s Stevie Nicks meets Sheryl Crow voice, Lunden Reign has lit the fuse that will surely explode in another fantastic album. It’s easy to sound vintage, but hard to sound classic. That’s the rare skill ‘Red Wagon’ is able to achieve.”

From: Warren Kurtz (Contributing Editor Goldmine Music Magazine):
“In 2015, Lunden Reign’s solid ten song debut album American Stranger, featuring ‘Hear Me’, received high praise from fellow Los Angeles female led groups including Terri Nunn from Berlin, Dale Bozzio from Missing Persons and Martha Davis from the Motels, all who achieved national success in the ’80s. Lunden Reign’s new single, ‘Red Wagon (Can’t Return to Yesterday)’, from their upcoming sophomore release ‘Confessions’, invokes a bit of a ’90s blend of powerful Foo Fighters-like guitar work combined with the alternative pop sounds of Letters to Cleo. The song’s producer, and Train’s lead guitarist, Luis Maldonado, also supplies harmonies in addition to doubling the electric guitar impact of Laura Lunden, as fans first heard on American Stranger. Matthew Denis and Matt Lucich provide a solid rhythm section on bass and drums, respectively, and are heard very clearly at the beginning of the bridge on this recording, mastered at Capitol in Hollywood. Lunden Reign’s growing fan base will certainly consider ‘Red Wagon’ to be another winner from this talented new group.”

From: Michael McKenna, (Nor’easter Entertainment Magazine):
Cali’s Lunden Reign has returned with some awesome new material from their upcoming sophomore LP, “Confessions”, the followup to their highly successful debut LP, “American Stranger.” The single opens with high-energy slammin’ guitars and pounding percussion that morphs into the angelic pipes of the ladies who will grab your ass and hold you captive with their melodic, tight harmonies. The chorus is totally infectious and the bridge takes you to another place in a minute and is monstrous. The outro has you thinking more is coming and then slaps you upside the head. Laura and Nikki Lunden give the listener more than they bargain for with their tight vox and Luis Maldonado’s vox and guitar adds that perfect balance. The musicians are totally spot-on from Matthew Denis on bottom to Matt Lucich on skins to the jammin riffs. I like the fact that it is upbeat with a driving beat which makes for a great dance tune at a rock club. This track is a KILLER CUT! I look forward to hearing the remainder of the LP. This single is a MUST LISTEN. On the Nor’easter Storm Scale, I give this a FORCE 4! WELL DONE!

Lunden Reign is composed of two core members: Nikki Lunden (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Composer) and Laura Espinoza-Lunden (Guitar/Composer). Producer Luis Maldonado joins as guitarist on select shows and the duo tours with some of LA’s top musicians including: Matt Denis (bass) & Matt Lucich (drums). Lunden Reign’s music is described as ‘Big Beat Alternative Rock’ or ‘Modern Classic Rock’. Some say it’s the signature album for “ROCK’s REBIRTH”. The band’s debut concept album “American Stranger” was released on Cleopatra Records March 17, 2015 and began receiving world-wide critical acclaim almost immediately. The 10 original songs are scored with layers of haunting melodies, uplifting guitar riffs blended with a sharp edge and a massive beat.

Laura Espinoza-Lunden’s innovative synth guitar riffs along with Nikki Lunden’s voice have been at the foreground for the two front women to define the Lunden Reign sound, enhanced by long time producer & co-writer Luis Maldonado (Train, Lisa Marie Presley). The trio are thrilled to have “The Matt’s”, Denis and Lucich, joining them for the sophomore album along with master mix-engineer Devin Hoffman. “Confessions” is tuning up to be a phenomenal release, touching on a bit more personal subjects and addressing some of the more pressing matters of the world. The band is currently in writing and recording sessions finishing up the last few songs and hope to have a release announcement soon.

Their first album “AMERICAN STRANGER” received critical acclaim and made multiple music magazine’s “TOP 10-BEST OF” Lists for 2015. You can hear songs and watch their videos at LundenReign.com.
