Los Angeles – Legendary YES singer/songwriter Jon Anderson recently visited several radio shows in Los Angeles to promote the new release of the AndersonPonty Band “Better Late Than Never” CD and DVD. Starting with the longest running Beatles radio show “Breakfast With The Beatles”, hosted by Chris Carter, Jon gave the listening audience a rare treat by performing an unreleased song titled “Tony & Me” live on air. http://www.955klos.com/breakfast-with-the-beatles/

Jon also appeared on KSWD-FM 100.3 The Sound’s popular morning show Mark in The Morning with Mark Thompson (live), and nationally syndicated program Uncle Joe’s Garage will Joe Benson (air date to be announced). Jon was also interviewed on the show “Off The Record”, which will air the weekend of October 24/25th. The AndersonPonty Band, featuring music icons Jon Anderson and Jean Luc Ponty, new CD/DVD titled “Better Late Than Never” hit the streets on September 25th! Audio Fidelity To Release Tangerine Dream “Thief” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack On 180g Vinyl

“An impressive soundtrack…a signature film score and certainly one of the best electronic scores of the 80’s.”

Camarillo, CA – Marshall Blonstein’s Audio Fidelity will be releasing Tangerine Dream’s Theif OST on 180g vinyl in November 2015. Tangerine Dream is among the most successful electronic groups of all time. The band was chosen by Michael Mann to write and produce the original score for Thief, his 1981 directorial debut. Tangerine Dream added their patented pulses, blips and whooshes to the film’s highly stylized visual scenes. Up to this time, no one had ever used a sequencer for a neo-noir film…this score is one of the most unusual of its kind for American cinema.

Rather than a full orchestral score, Tangerine Dream’s techno-based score uses synthesizer, percussion and electric guitar making for a fascinating and exciting soundtrack. Tracks like “Dr. Destructo” have a fast-paced percussion tempo. An engaging melody on “Beach Theme” makes it one of the album’s most familiar and popular tracks, while “Trap Feeling” has a delicacy that compares favorably to Brian Eno’s Music for Films.

There were two versions of the album only the US release included “Confrontation” an actual rock song of guitars, bass and drums written by Craig Safan. Band member, Edgar Froese stated at the time,”It was a pleasure working on the film because the exotic and shifting moods of Thief were perfectly suited to the kind of music we played…and yet we knew the music would also stand on its own.”

The soundtrack and the movie are inseparable. The music and movie have grown beyond cult classic status becoming an important part of the collected works of Tangerine Dream and Mann.

Paris, France – Completing the series of vinyl reissues, French music legends Magma will be issuing their iconic 1975 live album Magma Live Hhaï on limited edition vinyl. This double LP will be released by Jazz Village Records on October 2, 2015.

Magma has joined up with Jazz Village to celebrate its 45th anniversary with an impressive series of new and classic releases. A series of new and classic Magma titles has been scheduled for release every month from September 2014 to November 2015. A legendary French group if ever there was one, Magma has continued to influence the course of contemporary music since their debut in 1969.

After the departure in autumn of 1974 of Jannick TOP and most of the other members of the band, MAGMA rose phoenix-like from the ashes with a new, hot, line-up which saw the musical opportunity lying before it. After long rehearsals Christian VANDER realized that he had yet another exceptional groupand the decision was taken to record the first MAGMA live album. The recording, made in June 1975 at the Taverne de l’Olympia, perfectly demonstrates the incredible impact made by MAGMA. Absolutely dedicated to the music of Christian VANDER, who by that time had reached the summit of his art, the band plays as if it were one man and sweeps all before it in its triumphant passage. Whether it was a new arrangement of any of the old pieces (KOHNTARK, KOBAIA, MEKANIK) or a previously-unheard piece (HHAI, LIHNS), the sound of MAGMA has never been heard more powerfully as on this incredible recording. Although it remains difficult to point to any one performance as being outstanding, it would nevertheless be difficult not to react to the mind-blowing performance by Didier Lockwood, whose violin playing contributes so greatly to the profound originality of this magnificent double-album.

Brooklyn, NY/Studio City, CA – Lightyear Entertainment is pleased to announce the formation of a new music label, Silver Sleeve Records.

Silver Sleeve will be helmed by Lightyear VP and former Columbia Records A&R man Sky Spooner. It will focus on indie alt/rock bands, alt/country bands and active rock bands, in particular from (but not limited to) the vibrant Brooklyn music scene.

“Lightyear has always been eclectic in its releases, working in a variety of genres including rock, pop, r&b, hip-hop, reggae, world music, and jazz. Silver Sleeve is going to be different. We will have a distinct label identity. We will be looking for Hard/Fast/Loud/Punk/Psych/Surf/Metal music from stunning emerging artists all over the globe,” said Silver Sleeve President Sky Spooner.

The first band signed to the new label is The Giraffes. From 1996 to 2015, the Brooklyn-based Giraffes have shredded, burned, and leveled every audience from their Brooklyn hometown to the Sunset Strip, and back again. Lead singer Aaron Lazar and guitar wizard Damien Paris form the focus of the band supported by the locomotive rhythm section of maniac drummer Andrew Totolos and latest Giraffe, Josh Taggart on bass.

The first release of the new album from The Giraffes, Usury, will be released digitally worldwide through Caroline/Universal Music Group on October 2, 2015. The CD and vinyl LP will be released January 29, 2016. The LP will be clear, audiophile vinyl, with an included download card, and of course packaged with a silver sleeve.

After a very successful Indiegogo campaign, Drea. M shot the video in the course of two full nights at American Steel Studios in Oakland. The crew included LP Satsuki Murashige and Producer Dimitri Moore. Because she had a relatively short timeframe within which to shoot the video, the energy was intense and focused, and much like the concept behind the video, aspects of the performance were physically and psychologically challenging, pushing Drea. M to the edge of her comfort zone. She explains, “One example of this was when I chose to be tied up and suspended in order to sing in an upside-down, full-harness shibari rope suspension. While this shot enters the video for just a short period, a lot of time, communication, and safety awareness went into the preparation for this shot. The intensity of the moment — when I began to sing while suspended upside-down, knowing I had very little time to capture the lines while in such a restrictive harness — lent itself to the energy of the performance. It was a total rush for me…frightening, exciting, and liberating all at once.”

Drea. M will be releasing her new EP December 1st, and having the CD release at Awaken Café in Oakland, CA on Dec 3rd, 2015. Says Drea. M, “It is a true honor to be co-producing the album with David Earl — an incredible composer, producer, and collaborator who understands where I am taking my sound and cherishes musical exploration. I am very excited about this new body of work! After the CD release in December, the plan is to do a Pacific Northwest tour, play some other cities across the country, and then do a European tour.”

In closing Drea. M says, “What I wish to convey to my fans through my music is what I try to keep in mind every day, as a mantra of sorts: never give up on yourself, especially when you are just about to, and always push your boundaries, especially when you most feel like hiding in the safety zone. London, UK – Ian Danter is an incredibly talented multi- instrumentalist and songwriter who released his debut album “Prove You Wrong” to great critical acclaim in 2013 – he is also very well known as a sports broadcaster on talkSPORT Radio in the UK. Ian also plays drums with the longest running KISS tribute band Dressed To Kill. His musical influences include Dio, Rush, Foo Fighters, Wildhearts, Cheap Trick, Jellyfish, Pantera, Journey and Aerosmith, to name a few. Now much to the excitement of Ian’s fans worldwide, his sophomore album titled “Second Time Around” will be released on Cherry Red Records in September 25, 2015!

Memphis, TN – From the mid 60’s into the 70’s, there was no finer blue-eyed soul group than THE BOX TOPS, from Memphis, Tennessee!

Fronted by legendary singer, ALEX CHILTON, THE BOX TOPS recorded a string of hits including the worldwide #1 hit song, THE LETTER, and others including CRY LIKE A BABY, SOUL DEEP, NEON RAINBOW, CHOO CHOO TRAIN….and more.

In 1996, the original lineup of THE BOX TOPS reunited and performed worldwide until the tragic and untimely death of CHILTON in 2010. After a five year hiatus, original bassist, BILL CUNNINGHAM, and original guitarist GARY TALLEY have teamed up with veteran music industry bandleader/manager RICK LEVY to bring THE BOX TOPS music back to waiting audiences.
