One of the Most Sought-After Krautrock Albums, Twogether’s A Couple of Times, Has Been Re-Released on CD and Digital Platforms – OUT NOW!

Twogether were a German drums and keyboards rock duo from Düsseldorf, formed in 1973 out of musicians previously in The Crew and Blue Squad. They never did many gigs and only existed for a short while after completing their sole self-produced album.

A Couple of Times is a much sought-after rarity among collectors and was released in 1973 and has been unavailable on CD for over a decade.

This 2022 remaster features new liner notes by surviving member Reinhard Fischer and has also been approved by the Klaus Bangert Estate. Two bonus tracks from a non-album single (their only other release) have also been included.

Surviving Twogether member Reinhard Fischer said “We didn’t play together long enough for something to develop from it but from the mixture of our individual ideas about music this album came into being, a bit of everything and many opposites.”

Stanley Clarke, Stewart Copeland, and Deborah Holland Reunite as Animal Logic After 31 Years

For Immediate Release

Stanley Clarke, Stewart Copeland, and Deborah Holland Reunite as Animal Logic After 31 Years

Revered expansive pop trio releases brand new singles “Can You Tell Me” and “Ordinary” across all DSPs on November 18

In 1987, legendary jazz bassist Stanley Clarke, ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland, and singer-songwriter Deborah Holland surprised the world when they emerged as Animal Logic. Was it going to be a jazz-rock or punk-pop project? It turned out to be neither. Instead, they released two albums, 1989’s “Animal Logic” and 1991’s “Animal Logic II,” focused on smart, confident pop, deep grooves, and Holland’s soaring vocals.

The group was inextricably linked to Copeland’s Police history, having originally signed to his brother and Police manager Miles Copeland’s revered I.R.S. Records. In fact, Animal Logic’s first album cover was originally conceived for a Police greatest hits album.

The debut record resulted in a hit single in the US, Canada, and UK titled “Spy in the House of Love.” Further key singles included “As Soon As the Sun Goes Down” and “Rose Colored Glasses.” The group went on a single world tour in 1989, in addition to performing on Late Night with David Letterman, The Tonight Show, and on MTV.

The group broke up shortly after the release of “Animal Logic II” due to Clarke and Copeland’s prolific soundtrack and solo work commitments. Copeland and Clarke would also go on to reform their most famous groups, with Police and Return to Forever reunions in subsequent years. Holland transitioned into a successful solo career, resulting in six solo albums, including 2020’s “Fine, Thank You!” which featured Copeland on four tracks.

All three stayed in touch across the decades. The trio first rekindled their working relationship in 2013 when they joined forces to perform as part of Copeland’s Sacred Grove YouTube series, which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBLUwHTCiOE.

Between 2013 and 2022, the band shared ideas and files, resulting in the two new tracks, “Can You Tell Me” and “Ordinary,” which capture the quintessential, timeless Animal Logic approach.

“Can You Tell Me” combines classic West Coast songwriting, American folk-rock influences, and Clarke and Copeland’s rhythmic signatures. It explores the need for people to move on instead of wallowing in misery when faced with untenable circumstances. The track also features Howard Levy on harmonica, from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones.

“Ordinary” is a kinetic, upbeat rocker with lyrics focusing on the myriad upheavals the world is facing and trying to keep one’s head together despite it all. It includes sophisticated vocal harmonies, addictive hooks, and would have been very much at home on Animal Logic’s debut record.

The songs will be released digitally on November 18 and will be available on all streaming platforms. They can also be purchased via Bandcamp at: https://animallogic1.bandcamp.com/

Music is available by request. Animal Logic is available for interviews.

Pink Floyd “One of These Days” 50th Anniversary limited edition print Now Available!

The Ian Emes Online Store showcases this dazzling imagery in a range of merchandise and previously unseen, highly collectible posters and prints.

Ian Emes is the British film director, artist, animator, innovator of film techniques and long-time Pink Floyd collaborator. Described as ‘precursor of the music video and digital animation’, Ian’s experimental short film “Meddle – One of These Days” (1972) is the first ever synchronised interpretation of Pink Floyd music. By collaborating with Ian, Pink Floyd found a way to expand the immersive universe of their concerts, having previously used only lighting effects during their performances – ushering in a new era of concert technology not just for Pink Floyd but for rock music as a whole.

When the band commissioned Ian to animate “The Dark Side of The Moon”, he created the world-famous “Time” sequence, (“The Emes Clocks”) which was projected onto a circular screen, (“Mr. Screen”).

Following the euphoric reaction to “Time” at Wembley Arena (1974), Pink Floyd commissioned Ian to create sequences for “Speak To Me”, (which included the iconic prism) “On the Run” and “Us and Them”. The concert films were subsequently seen by millions across the world. Among the many treasures in Ian’s archives are animation tests and storyboards for the entire “The Dark Side of The Moon” album.

This unseen footage includes Ian’s original “Us and Them” sequence of “Marching Crosses” – a forerunner of the “Marching Hammers” seen years later in Roger Waters’ “The Wall”. With its infinite perspectives and tumbling figures, Ian’s dynamic graphic imagery became a founding style for the band. His “Time” sequence was itself re-purposed for Roger Waters’ epic projections onto vast screens in his sell-out “Us and Them” World Tour (2019).

Previously Waters had asked Ian to create sequences for “The Wall – Live in Berlin” (1990), his first solo appearance since splitting from the band. The concert was performed to a sell-out crowd of over 350,000 people, then the biggest concert audience in history.

More recently, Ian’s iconic “Meddle – One of These Days” animation revisited the circular screen in the historic Roman amphitheatre in David Gilmour’s “Live at Pompei” tour (2016).

In parallel to his animation career, Ian continues to experiment as a multi-disciplinary artist, exploring all mediums of the still and moving image. He has created album covers, concept art and storyboards, directed nine feature films, TV series and hundreds of commercials with Ridley Scott Associates, garnering numerous awards, including three BAFTAS and an OSCAR Nomination.

Ian’s most recent Pink Floyd collaboration is a feature-length interpretation of their ultimate album “The Endless River”, (2021) available in their “Later Years” box set and on Sky Arts.

Selected works from Ian’s archives are currently touring the world with the record-breaking “Pink Floyd –Their Mortal Remains” Exhibition.

Natural Vybez’s Debut Poetic Rock Album Released on Digital Platforms – Out Now!

For Immediate Release

Natural Vybez’s Debut Poetic Rock Album Released on Digital Platforms – Out Now!

The Great Reset encompasses eclectic sounds spanning multiple musical genres, with the overriding theme of consciousness, and raising the intellectual bar to a higher frequency. The album was inspired by the impact of lockdowns, changes in lifestyle and the need for intelligent conversation in a musical panorama.

This is an album that originally began as magnificent poetical works beautifully crafted by Natural Vybez and metamorphosised into an epic soundscape of intellectual, socio-political commentary offering a powerful riposte to the zeitgeist of fear and unquestioning conformity.

An album of oceanic vastness, embroidered by the fusion of rock, reggae, funk, jazz and blues into a sonic landscape of beauty, courtesy of the production values of Mesh Music UK, with all lyrics written by Natural Vybez.

The end result is poetry which is transformed into an epic soundscape of intellectual, socio-political commentary offering a powerful riposte to the zeitgeist of fear and unquestioning conformity.

Natural Vybez said, “The Great Reset is a very poignant album for me. The first 8 tracks showcase a lion-esque roar of frustration and disapproval against various negative developments in our external that require a ‘Great Reset’, in terms of harnessing our collective power to refuse to unquestionably accept our loss of freedom and right to express dissent. The next 8 tracks express the internal warfare affecting us at a subconscious level, as the growing climate of fear threatens to destabilise our mental health and wellbeing world, thereby necessitating a “Great Reset” to reclaim control over our minds. I really hope that you enjoy the album!”

If you are attuned to learning and love a thought provoking, creative listening experience, then this is an album to appreciate.

Greek Electronic Music Artist Billy Yfantis Releases The Soundtrack Of His Performance At North America’s Longest Running Experimental Music Festival!

For Immediate Release

Greek Electronic Music Artist Billy Yfantis Releases The Soundtrack Of His Performance At North America’s Longest Running Experimental Music Festival!

A 14-minute hypnotic composition inspired by artists like Tangerine Dream, Sunn O)), and Merzbow.

Athens, Greece – Experimental musician and author Billy Yfantis releases his new digital single entitled “The Universe Collapses (Norcal Noisefest 2022 Performance).” The new digital single includes Billy’s performance at Norcal Noisefest 2022. The Norcal Noisefest is the longest running experimental/noise/outsider sound art festival in the USA, founded in 1995 in Sacramento, CA. The 2022 edition of the festival took place from September 30 through October 2, with live performances on Friday September 30 and Saturday October 1 at Cafe Colonial, plus an all-virtual day on Sunday October 2.

Billy appeared virtually on the 3rd day of the festival by presenting a new experimental composition through the use of a unique organismic analogue synthesizer. The term “organismic” refers to the usage by the synthesizer of some fundamental principles underlying living creatures. “Organismic” means that the synthesizer’s modules interact with each other, and the behaviour of the instrument simulates a live conversation between living creatures.

Billy Yfantis commented on the release: “For this festival performance, I used a special-made synthesizer that has mechanical parts that simulate the dialogue between living organisms. My main scope was to establish a dialogue between machines and present it to a human-oriented event: a music festival. This mechanical dialogue between machines sounds like a post-apocalyptic soundtrack to my ears, and I can imagine it as the soundtrack of the universe’s collapse.” Billy Yfantis plans to release his 6th full album soon, a Neoclassical/Cinematic album inspired by European mythology. Stay tuned for more information!

About Billy Yfantis
Vasileios (Billy) Yfantis holds 2 Master Degrees in Information Technology and is a Ph.D. candidate in the University of West Attica by conducting research on e-government. Billy has been working on music since the late 1990s by experimenting with tape mixing and sound design. Billy is playing digital keyboards, but prefers to express his artistic dream through the electronic sounds that come from unusual machines. He has experimented with the recording of vacuum cleaners, electric blenders and other strange sounds that have resulted in musical releases. Moreover, Billy has authored books on music, business and science while from times to times he speaks about the electronic governance at scientific conferences all over Europe.

Famous Quotes (What Others Have Said)

Krautrock legend Harald Grosskopf (Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze, Cosmic Jokers): “I always like electronic music made by younger musicians who consequently follow their personal instinct, rather than trying to copy what’s already been made in the past, in the spirit of: Whenever you meet Buddha kill him. Keep on tracking Billy!”

Tom McLoughlin (Director of the movie “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives”): “I really dug his music!! VERY cool stuff!!”

Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep): “I like the track ‘Waiting for the battle.’ Great riff. I can see this as soundtracks to Psycho – punk movies and the like.”

Bobby Borg, (Music Business Author, Consultant, Professor): “This is fkn bad ass music that everyone needs to hear… imagine the coolest meditation music out there and the coolest sci-fi movie soundtrack rolled into one! Stream it and trip out today.

Steve Whitfield (Producer and engineer of The Cure, The Mission UK): “This music is crying out to be used in films but at the same time it’s great to just sit back listen and immerse yourself in them without any moving images and let your imagination run wild!”

Snowy Shaw (ex-King Diamond, Therion, Mercyful Fate): “I didn’t know what to expect when I had this album sent to me by the composer Billy Yfantis. To be perfectly honest, 9 times out of 10 when people send me their new album it makes me feel a bit uneasy and awkward. Firstly because I don’t listen an awful lot to contemporary music and secondly, even less to other metal & hard rock artists due to lack of interest and I don’t wanna hurt their feelings. I don’t mean that in any rude, disrespectful or arrogant way, but I’m into creating my own music, not so much into consuming music of my peers. However, this was something entirely different. I’m not even sure it’s considered music, but it’s the kind of atmospheric and meditative type of sounds that I’ve been listening a helluva lot over the past few years to try relax and cope with my stressful, turbulent life, constantly on the verge of being burnt out. That being said, I liked it and it made me calm, mindful and sleepy. Presumably the worst kind of reaction my metalhead peers would wanna hear about their new album but in this case it’s probably the best sort of compliment one could get.

Virtuoso Guitarist Vinnie Moore To Release New Album “Double Exposure” With Guest Vocalists

For Immediate Release

Virtuoso Guitarist Vinnie Moore To Release New Album “Double Exposure” With Guest Vocalists

NYC – The follow up to Vinnie’s 2019 “SOUL SHIFTER” will be released on November 8th on his Mind’s Eye Music label. Vinnie is joined by singers Ed Terry (Rage And Beyond, American Mafia), Keith Slack (MSG, Mother Road), Mike DiMeo (Riot) and Brian Stephenson (Old James) on this half vocal half instrumental album. This is his first solo release that features vocals. Band members include Richie Monica (Billy Cox, Papa Chubby, Tantric) on drums, Michael Bean and Pete Griffin (Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa) on Bass, John Cassidy on Keyboards, and John Pessoni on Drums.

Vinnie has released ten solo albums and six albums and a LIVE DVD with rock icons UFO, and is considered to be one of the originators of shred guitar. He’s made many guest appearances with others and played and wrote the soundtrack for a classic PEPSI TV commercial. He’s recorded and toured with ALICE COOPER and was opening act for RUSH with his solo band on the ROLL THE BONES tour. Vinnie has toured all around the world with UFO and solo, and has two best selling guitar instructional videos. He has been an inspiration for fans and guitarists worldwide.

This project started during the period when we were all grounded from touring. I had some song ideas and originally thought I’d do an instrumental EP with 5 or 6 songs. Before recording, I always do listening sessions with my demos to get production ideas. While playing “One Day”, I started hearing vocals in my head and naturally started singing along and it hit me that this would make a good vocal song. As I listened through the rest of the tunes, one by one I realized that they all could be vocal songs. It was a light bulb moment where I realized, ‘hey dummy, here’s the vocal thing you’ve been wanting to do’. So the idea to take a group of songs and create dual versions of each was born.

To set this all in motion, the next step was lining up singers. I knew right away that I wanted to collaborate with a few different vocalists I have known or worked with over the years. Keith Slack and Mike DiMeo quickly came to mind. I have known Keith for more than 20 years and we have always talked about working together. Mike has toured with me in the past as vocalist and keyboardist, so he was an obvious choice. Brian Stephenson opened for me on a tour in 2016 with his band Old James, I liked his voice and lyrics and knew he would be a good guy to collaborate with. Ed Terry and I were on a track together a couple years back. I really dug his voice and ideas and knew I wanted to work with him.

The only good thing about the world being shut down for months is that it gave me the time I needed to put this thing all together. It was a big undertaking. In between recording guitars, I would shift gears and go into phases where I sang and sketched out lyrics. It took some thought to decide which singer I wanted to be on which song. After that, I sent out the recordings with and without vocals and told everyone to be creative whether that meant totally following their own inspiration or using any of my ideas. In the end both things happened.”

Vinnie recently completed a European solo tour in May and a festival run with UFO during the summer.

This album takes you through ups and downs, messes with your emotions, and makes sex even better. And you don’t want no parts of this sh*t” – Sam from The Dewey Cox Band

He’s hands down the coolest guy you’ve never met and plays a pretty mean guitar” – Bugs Bunny

Legendary Violinist Darryl Way’s Unique Concept Album & Novel “The Rock Artist’s Progress” Out Now!

For Immediate Release

Legendary Violinist Darryl Way’s Unique Concept Album & Novel “The Rock Artist’s Progress” Out Now!

Features guest vocal performance from Steve Hogarth of Marillion!

“The Rock Artist’s Progress” is a unique concept and project created by legendary violinist Darryl Way that consists of an album and novel that are intrinsically linked together and sold as a bundle. The novel will also include musical illustrations created by Darryl, that can be clicked on and listened to, whilst reading. Both album and novel are now available on Spirit of Unicorn Music, Cherry Red Records, iTunes and Amazon. The enhanced audio will also be available on Kindle.

The novel, written by Charles Shorwell, is set against the backdrop of the musical revolution that started with the Beatles and begins in 1968, a year after ‘The Summer of Love’ and follows the story of Daniel Luckham, a young classical pianist studying at the Royal College of Music. Seduced by the rock music scene and vibrant counter culture in London at that time, he contrives to leave college and pursue a career in ‘Rock’. But some bad decisions lead him down a dark and dangerous alley, populated by drug dealers, unscrupulous managers and femme fatales. On his journey to fulfil his dreams, Daniel finds his integrity challenged, and the innocence of youth cruelly stripped away.

The connection between the album and novel, unfortunately has to remain a secret, as to divulge that information would give away a key plot line in the novel. All that can be said is that the album represents a body of work recorded in the late 60s. Created by Darryl Way, the album features a guest vocal performance from Steve Hogarth of Marillion, on the track “Morpheus”.
