Filmed at The Union Chapel in London UK on April 16, 2015 by Paul Green Productions, with lighting by Russell ‘Tigger’ Matthews, the DVD features Renaissance performing such favorite classics as “Carpet of the Sun”, “Ocean Gypsy”, “Mother Russia”, “Ashes are Burning” and newer pieces “Symphony of Light” and “Grandine il Vento” to an ecstatic audience! The DVD is NTSC all-region, with LPCM stereo and Dolby Digital surround audio tracks. A Blu-Ray version is planned in 2016.

Renaissance is a band with a rich history unique unto themselves as progressive rock pioneers who rose from the ashes of the seminal UK rock band, The Yardbirds. Acclaimed for their unique blending of progressive rock with classical and symphonic influences, the band’s career has spanned forty plus years spearheaded by the 5 octave voice of Annie Haslam and the masterful songwriting skills of Michael Dunford. They are widely considered to be the band that most successfully and routinely utilized the sound of a full orchestra in their recordings.

In the early years Renaissance toured Europe extensively. It wasn’t long before influential progressive rock stations in the US, such as WNEW (NYC), WMMR (Philadelphia) and WHFS (Washington) were turning on America to Renaissance. Before too long the band started thrilling concertgoers on the world’s most distinguished stages, from Carnegie Hall in NYC with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, to the Royal Albert Hall in London with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Chorale Society. In 1978 they had a top ten hit in the UK with ‘Northern Lights’, which has become a classic radio favorite, still demanding regular airplay to this day.

The band eventually disbanded in the late 1980’s at which time Annie Haslam launched a solo career. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the original founding of Renaissance, Michael and Annie in 2009 decided to form a new touring band. More recently they have toured the UK, Belgium, Holland, Israel, Portugal, North America, Canada, Japan and South Korea and produced their first album in 13 years entitled “Symphony of Light”. The album is a testament to the unforgettable melodies that Michael Dunford infused into his work, Michael died prematurely in 2012.

Renaissance toured Europe in April 2015, the first in over 35 years! The tour was very successful and the fans loved every minute!

The current personnel of Renaissance include: Annie Haslam lead vocals, Rave Tesar keyboards, Tom Brislin keyboards, Mark Lambert acoustic guitars, Leo Traversa bass guitar, and Frank Pagano drums.

“An Evening With Wild Man Fischer” To Be Released On CD For The First Time Ever!

London, UK – For the first time ever, legendary underground classic “An Evening With Wild Man Fischer” produced by Frank Zappa will be released on CD by Gonzo Multimedia! The album has been out of print for decades and original vinyl copies are highly sought after!

Born Larry Wayne Fischer in Los Angeles, California, Wild Man Fischer was institutionalized at age 16, and later diagnosed with two mental disorders, severe paranoid schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Following his escape from the hospital (he said no one ever bothered to take him back there), Fischer wandered Los Angeles singing his songs a capella for 10 cents each to passers-by. Discovered on the street by Frank Zappa, with whom he recorded his first album in 1968, Fischer became an underground concert favorite. Zappa was responsible for Fischer’s initial foray into the business of recorded music, an album called “An Evening with Wild Man Fischer”, which contained 36 tracks, some of which contained musical accompaniment by Zappa and some of the Mothers of Invention members, and others featured Wildman Fischer solo.

The CD will be released on January 29, 2016

Says Frank Ferrara, “Needing one more song for the BANG album…we had Questions….our producer didn’t think the song was strong enough to be on the record… we disagreed and convinced him to add it to the BANG album…Lo and behold it became our first single….it goes to show that sometimes the “BAND” knows best….”

The 1971 self-titled debut album ‘BANG’ is considered an important forerunner to the early Doom Metal genre. Undoubtedly one of America’s heaviest ‘proto-metal’ bands from the period, BANG also had a strong sense of melodic power. The band’s versatility and songwriting skills are second to none. Highly regarded as a cult act by many for years, it’s now time for this truly amazing rock band to be enjoyed by a new audience worldwide!

Back in the spring of 1972, BANG was shaping up to be the proverbial ‘next big thing’. Signed a few months earlier to Capitol Records, the band’s first single “Questions” was taking off in the Billboard Hot 100. With the enthusiastic support of their record label, the trio’s self-titled debut album was also climbing in the charts. The group’s management had them opening shows for just about every major band of the era. Moreover, BANG had recently opened for their all time favorite band Black Sabbath, and by common consensus of opinion, stole the show! With two band members, guitarist Frank Gilcken and lead singer/bassist Frank Ferrara, still in their teens, and drummer/lyricist Tony Diorio, BANG seemed to be unstoppable!

Somehow, though, it didn’t quite work out. Even as “Questions” was charting, a corporate shakeup at Capitol saw the band’s supporters moving on and replaced by A&R men who had their own signings to promote. With the band’s producer, Michael Sunday, also leaving the label, BANG’s support system was crumbling. Their new producer engineered a change in personnel that led to drummer/lyricist Tony Diorio’s departure. Meanwhile, the label insisted that BANG develop a more mainstream, pop oriented sound. Trying to keep the dream alive, they changed management companies. With a much more commercial approach, the group released a 3rd album, ‘BANG Music’ in 1973, which, although did contain some great songs and performances, failed to chart. By 1974, just a couple of years after their initial success, a tired and disillusioned BANG had lost their direction, momentum and self-belief. They went their separate ways.

Despite the relative briefness of their career, BANG left behind a powerful recorded legacy: four albums, including their unreleased 1971 concept album ‘Death Of A Country’, as well as a trio of non-album tracks that were recorded as singles when their deal with Capitol was about to expire. In 1996, much to everyone’s surprise, BANG reunited! The band recorded and released in 1998 a new album titled ‘Return To Zero’, with the more metal-oriented album titled ‘The Maze’ (featuring new versions of old favorites “Love Sonnet” and “Bow To The King”) following in 2004, proving once again that the band still had the magic that made them great back in the early 70’s!

And now, much to the excitement of their fans, BANG will be performing live in Europe in 2016! Says Frank Ferrara, “The three of us realized that BANG was still a musical force. And even though a lot of years have passed, we were writing songs as if it were yesterday. The dream is alive, and with renewed thirst and love of the music, we are resuming our quest.” With drummer Jake Leger, and the Franks, the band will remain a three piece, sounding just like the records!

Finnish label Svart Records is re-releasing Bang’s 4 classic records: Death of a Country, Bang, Mother/Bow to the King , Music Album. They are being re-pressed on both vinyl and CD and will be available early 2016.

NYC – In January 2015 legendary producer Mike Vernon (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, Blue Horizon) was invited to receive a ‘Keeping The Blues Alive’ award at the prestigious International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN. This award, was not the only highlight of the weekend for Mike; the second was witnessing the performance of one of the most amazing female blues singers Mike had seen in years – SARI SCHORR.

So knocked out was he with Sari, Mike came out of retirement to produce an album with her. Already a consummate songwriter, with tracks on major labels, Sari has written or co-written most of the songs on her new album. This album recording is now well underway and delivers hard-driving Blues-Rock influenced by the late ’60s British Blues movement. Sari (who trained as an opera singer) mixes Blues, Rock, and Soul with concrete melodies and poetic lyrics to striking effect.

Years of touring the US and Europe with Joe Louis Walker and Poppa Chubby, brought Sari greater prominence throughout the blues world. Schorr was recently inducted into the New York Blues Hall of Fame.

Sari will celebrate the release of her debut album on Manhaton Records in 2016 and undertake a US and European tour. She kicks off her groundbreaking tour at Carnegie Hall NYC, performing at The Lead Belly Fest with Buddy Guy, Eric Burdon, Edgar Winter and Walter Trout, on February 4, 2016.

Says Sari, “I set out to write achingly honest songs about finding love, losing love, betrayal, addiction, and the beauty and the tragedy of this human experience. My life’s passion is to use music as a galvanizing force to repair, inspire and unite people. To get there, I had to come clean and stonewall any constraints on the writing and performance of the songs. Then I had to learn to trust my intuition. Making an album is like building a pyramid in the dark. You know what you want to end up with, but you don’t really know what you have until there’s some distance and light.

“My songs are rooted in the blues and honoring that long tradition is important to me. My style of songwriting draws heavily on contrasting melodic hooks with aching harmonies. Writing honest and inspired lyrics is always the goal. I rely heavily on imagery and play with double entendres. My influences are many and various and include Son House, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Lead Belly, Etta James, Bessie Smith, Freddie King, Robert Johnson, B.B. King, Peter Green, Robert Plant and Bob Dylan.

“The album was written in the US, UK, Spain, and Germany. The band recorded most of the basic tracks in London and Seville. I’m so honored to have such incomparable musicians on the album including Innes Sibun, Walter Trout, Oli Brown, John Baggott and the wonderful Martha Velez.”

Sari mixes a passion for music and with a duty of social responsibility. She has devoted her talent and energy to music projects of a grand scale for humanitarian causes. Most notable is her work on a “Toast to Freedom” for Amnesty International, where she collaborated with many musical legends including Warren Haynes, Levon Helm, Keb Mo’, Taj Mahal, Eric Burdon, and Carly Simon. Sari’s humanitarian efforts include work in Haiti and India. She founded Matters – a non-profit that draws attention to humanitarian causes through the arts.

Sari is a marathon runner, animal rights activist, and aspiring vegan. She is also a writer, philosopher and wanderer with an inquisitive nature. She currently lives in Brooklyn with her husband and pit bull triplets.

Sari’s new band THE ENGINE ROOM, features stunning British guitarist Innes Sibun, formerly with Robert Plant. Says Sari, “Making an authentic connection with my audience is everything to me. London, UK – Rock legends Lucifer’s Friend reformed in 2015, some 20+ years after they were last together. LIVE @ SWEDEN ROCK 2015 captures the band’s performance on the 4 Sound Stage on Friday 5th June 2015 as the HEADLINE act. The set list includes the band’s greatest hits from the 1970s plus songs from the recently released ‘Awakening’ title.

Lucifer’s Friend formed in 1970 with their influential and groundbreaking self-titled album, famous album among connoisseurs of 70’s hard rock. Its heavy and majestic overtones made it a pioneer release of progressive rock genre.

The group went on to release six albums in that decade. In 1976 Lucifer’s Friend suffered a hard blow when British vocalist John Lawton jumped ship for none other than Uriah Heep. The band broke up in 1982 and briefly reformed in 1994 for their ninth album “Sumo Grip”. Now they’re back, after 20 years, literally by the fans’ request…

“This being only the second live concert since our reformation, we were all of course a bit nervous. However the crowd made us more than welcome and after the first few notes, the adrenalin kicked in and we were up and running. To play Sweden Rock Festival…one of the biggest festivals on the circuit was for us a great honour and one which we will hopefully repeat. This live album represents the band in full flow and with a new studio album planned in 2016, we hope to go on ‘Riding The Sky’” – John Lawton

Macon, GA – Joey Stuckey is a blind guitarist, producer, educator, recording artist and media personality.

Born in Green Cove Springs FL, a city that has honored him with the key to the city and now residing in Macon GA, for whom he is the official music ambassador, Joey Stuckey is a power house of music talent. He has worked with icons from Alan Parsons to Ted Nugent and Joe Solo, producer of Macy Gray to Sammy Nestico, arranger of the Count Basie orchestra.

Last year saw him take on the UK where he toured and released his latest single “Blind Man Drivin’”.

The song and it’s accompanying video was a runaway hit and became the official theme song for the Visually Impaired Musicians Lives Conference, held at the University College of London where Stuckey was also a keynote speaker and performer.

While in the UK, Joey also became friends with research teams from Queen Mary University of London and Goldsmith’s University and has worked with them extensively to improve music technology for the blind. As a blind person, a studio owner, producer and professor of music technology at Mercer University, this was a roll Stuckey took on with ease.

2016 is already shaping up to be a land mark year as Joey prepares to release the full length album “Blind Man Drivin’” in early summer.

Says Stuckey, “Music is the thing that makes me know I am a live. It is my spiritual bread and butter and the best way I know to encourage and provide comfort and inspiration to others, while at the same time entertaining and sharing stories about who I am. When I first started making my own music it was a combination of southern rock sensibilities mixed with bands like The Smiths and The Cure, I used to think of myself as the Morrissey of Macon. I have played a lot of jazz and my jazz album ‘Mixture’ was number 9 on the top 40 CMJ jazz charts for 5 weeks back in 2013, but, the thing that really seems to enthrall my audiences is blues and that is now what I am focused upon.”

And no wonder that blues is what Stuckey fans want to hear! With his versatile voice that can whisper or shout with equal alacrity and his guitar playing that can make one note cry or explode like a super nova with seemingly a thousand notes a second, blues is Stuckey’s true calling.

To make this debut blues project truly memorable, Stuckey is working hard to gather old and new friends alike to add some truly one-of-a-kind performances.

Prog Trio SkyTalk Release Debut EP “Days in the Sun”

NYC – Much to the excitement of prog fans worldwide, progressive rock trio SkyTalk has released their highly anticipated debut EP “Days in the Sun”! SkyTalk is a 3 piece collaborative effort formed in January 2015 by twin brothers Jordan and Talor Steinberg and Dan “Ello” Costello. Costello was introduced to the twins by a mutual friend while all three were attending Purchase College. They bonded instantly on a similar taste in music, particularly 70’s progressive rock bands like Yes and Rush. Shortly after meeting, the three met up again to jam and quickly found that they had an undeniable musical chemistry, as well as similar inner philosophies on life and music. Eager to form a band, the three began writing original music together and were surprised at the effortlessness of the process, writing five songs in a matter of two months that would later become their “Days in the Sun” EP.

Blending their love of progressive music as well as soul and funk influences, SkyTalk polished their newfound sound and recorded the EP in the following months. With a lyrical emphasis on spiritual concepts, and the shared belief that music is a necessary and powerful force of healing and expression in the world, SkyTalk has released their first EP and is currently working on a new full length record which even further emphasizes these principles. The band is currently booking shows in the New York area as their full length record nears completion.

Says Ello, “The theme of this EP is spirituality and healing. The songs deal with healing past hurts and coming to terms with who you really are now as apposed to who you thought you would be. Meditation and becoming free of your mind was another revolving theme, especially in the song ‘Fall Awake’. ‘Say’ deals with honesty and overcoming barriers that prevent one from opening up completely to others.”

The album was written between the Steinberg brothers basement and the music school where the three all teach private lessons. Each song began as pieces and were refined through jam sessions between the three and further planning in the studio. Lyrics always began as a conversation and were written after the music was ready. The recording process took place over a few months and was recorded between three different studios, engineered, produced and mastered by Jeremy Kinney, a friend of the three from school. NO metronomes were used in the recording process.

Dan “Ello” Costello has been drumming and writing music since he was 15. In and out of a few not so serious bands in high school, he also wrote original music of his own, both electronic and singer songwriter solo projects until joining SkyTalk. Ello is currently studying music at Purchase College and working as a drum instructor at School of Rock. Jordan and Talor Steinberg have been performing in bands since their early teenage years, playing all over the New York city area. Outside of the band the two are currently private music instructors.

SkyTalk is currently booking shows in New York and in the East Coast, as well as beginning to record a full length album. They are also working on two different music videos, one of a cover and one for their original song “Days in the Sun”.

Baltimore, MD – USA based progressive rock and metal band Odin’s Court’s announced the re-release of their 2008 album Deathanity (R3) for March, 1 2016. Deathanity (R3) is a “reboot” of the original ProgRock Records album, consisting of a remix (original recording), new recordings (e.g., vocals), and a re-master.

Band leader Matt Brookins commented on the decision to revisit Deathanity: “This was an important album to the band – we worked hard independently, and then shopped it to labels. It was picked up by ProgRock Records (2008), and to date remains our best selling and most popular release.
