Krautrock Ensemble Hedersleben To Release Third Album “The Fall Of Chronopolis”

San Francisco – Hot on the heels of their critically second album Die Neuen Welten, Krautrockers Hedersleben will be releasing the progressive rock concept album The Fall Of Chronopolis on November 20 on Purple Pyramid Records.

Hedersleben was founded by former UK Subs guitarist Nicky Garratt in Germany 2011 and has since gone on, along with mainstays Kephera Moon and Jason Willer, to be the backing band for Hawkwind legend Nik Turner on his 2013 album Space Gypsy as well as a forthcoming 2016 album not to mention making special guest appearances on Turner’s newest release Space Fusion Odyssey.

Following the success of Space Gypsy, Hedersleben worked with original Brainticket Keyboard/Flute/Sitar player Joel Vandroogenbroeck, recording a new album for his legendary Swiss band. Hedersleben recorded their debut album Upgoer back-to-back with Brainticket’s double album Past, Present & Future. In 2013 Hedersleben embarked on their first national tour, both opening for and backing Nik Turner.

Hedersleben’s second, highly acclaimed album Die Neuen Welten featured guest vocalist Kati Knox, and was again recorded at Megasonic Sound in May, 2014. Side A of Die Neuen Welten was set to film by San Francisco filmmaker Erren Franklin. A one-off gig in June, 2014, featured special guest Captain Sensible on second guitar. The show was filmed at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records in Oakland. In August, 2014, Hedersleben took to the road again on a repeat of the previous year’s tour with Nik Turner. Again Hedersleben both opened for and backed Turner.

Hedersleben’s third album, The Fall Of Chronopolis is released to coincide with their third national tour, again opening for and backing Nik Turner. The thrilling third album from Hedersleben follows the epic story of the rise and fall of the Chronotic Empire based on the book by Barrington J. Bayley. – packaged in a 6 panel digipak for CD and a gatefold for the vinyl!

The band is schedule for a 5 week tour of the US in support of Nik Turner’s Hawkwind starting in November!

Keyboard Legend Rick Wakeman Collaborates With 15-year-old Soprano Emmie Beckitt On New Single “Welcome A Star”

London, UK – “Welcome A Star” is the first single from 15-year-old soprano Emmie Beckitt, in collaboration with classically trained pianist, composer and TV presenter, Rick Wakeman. Rick first met Emmie, who has been singing classical repertoire since the age of ten, at a fundraiser for Kids ‘n’ Cancer – and was so impressed by her crystal clear voice and effortless range that he decided her to record a song from his oratorio The New Gospels, which tells the real story of Christmas.

The result is “Welcome A Star”, a beautifully melodic Christmas song, released by Hope Records via Nova Distribution, on Friday 4 December. “Welcome A Star” was recorded by Emmie with the English Chamber Choir and the Orion Orchestra, and features Rick on keyboards.

Currently studying for her Grade 8 exam in singing, Emmie Beckitt takes part in the Senior School Chamber Choir at St Augustines, Scarborough, North Yorkshire and is also a member of her school orchestra and jazz band, as she plays tenor saxophone, violin and piano. When aged only 13, she supported Katherine Jenkins in concert and a year later, appeared at Roy Wood’s sell-out show at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, where she received a standing ovation. She recently sang “The Hymn”, composed by Sir Tim Rice and Rick Wakeman, with an orchestra and choir, at The Sage Gateshead, as part of the Tim Rice Concert Series.

A Fellow of the Royal College of Music, Professor of the London College of Music, former YES keyboard player, Watchdog presenter and renowned Grumpy Old Man, classically trained pianist Rick Wakeman began his career as a much-sought-after session musician in the late Sixties, playing on more than 2,000 records by a wide variety of artists, including Cat Stevens, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Black Sabbath. In the early Seventies, he found fame in his own right as a member of first Strawbs and then YES. As a solo artist and with YES, he has sold more than 50,000,000 albums. He has written a number of film scores and has become a TV regular, appearing on shows like Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Countdown and of course, Grumpy Old Men and Watchdog. He still finds time to perform numerous concerts around the world every year, ranging from his extremely popular one-man show to extravaganzas that feature symphony orchestras and choirs.

Both Emmie and Rick are patrons of the Chesterfield charity Kids’n’ Cancer and a percentage of the profits from the sale of Welcome A Star will be donated to that organisation.

London, UK – Due for release on the 6th November 2015 is the CD and download editions of long lost THE KEITH EMERSON TRIO recordings made in Keith’s parents’ living room when he was a teenager. These recordings come from one of only four acetates ever made!

These 7 tracks were previously been made available by Record Collection (in early 2015) as a limited edition vinyl release. This is the first time these recordings have been released on CD and download.

Of the CD and download editions, Keith Emerson said: “Well, we all have to start somewhere! I’m happy that Cherry Red is releasing my very earliest beginnings and I hope it will inspire future generations of musicians.”

Keith Emerson first found success with The Nice in the late 1960’s before going on to become a founding member of Emerson, Lake & Palmer in 1970. ELP were critically and commercially successful through much of the 1970’s, becoming one of the best-known progressive rock groups of the era. Emerson is widely regarded as one of the top keyboard players of the progressive rock era.

London, UK – Three years after their critically acclaimed debut ‘Pictures of You’, creative powerhouse duo Chris Braide and Geoff Downes come together again for the second chapter of their joint venture the Downes Braide Association – DBA in short. The album, entitled Suburban Ghosts, will be released on 6th November through Cherry Red Records.

Singer songwriter and producer Chris Braide has written and produced songs for Beyonce, Lana del Rey, Paloma Faith, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, David Guetta, Sia, Afrojack and Marc Almond’s latest album The Velvet Trail; in his accomplished career he was awarded Ivor Novello, ASCAP and Billboard Awards.

Prog legend Geoff Downes has played keyboards in The Buggles, Asia and Yes. He co-wrote the hits Heat of the Moment and Video Killed The Radio Star. It was at The Buggles’ reunion show in London back in 2010 that Chris and Geoff’s paths crossed for the first time.

From there, with Braide busy working with both Paloma Faith and Lana del Rey and Geoff recording Yes Fly From Here, it took a year of secret ‘moonlighting’ sessions to create ‘Pictures of You’; the stunning result left critics in awe.

Roll on to 2015: once again, the Downes Braide Association doesn’t let a busy schedule deter them. Chris has just released the debut album for This Oceanic Feeling, his new project with Ash Soan and Lee Pomeroy, while Geoff is on the road with Yes. Again, the duo’s creative juices seem to thrive in those stolen sessions, and Suburban Ghosts is born.

Chris Braide explains: “‘Suburban Ghosts’ is an album about isolation and loneliness in small town suburbia.” The story goes back to his and Geoff’s childhood in the small county of Cheshire in the North West of England: its beautiful varied countryside landscapes in contrast with grey industrial wastelands, the feeling of claustrophobia that led them both away looking for a new adventure and those sentiments of nostalgia as they come back to a town populated with the ghosts of their past. “A blank town under a sky full of stars, the same blank town you left behind,” continues Braide – “Now everyone has long gone, you’re haunted by images of those former frost covered school gates and the laughter of children in the park and of the lovers you had once loved. The alternative life you could have lived. You see a photograph that reminds you how fragile we are. Somebody close to you whom you should have been there for. But it’s too late to go back now. It’s time to let them go, those suburban ghosts.”

Geoff Downes says about Chris Braide: “He never ceases to amaze with his application to the finest detail. And as on our previous collaboration ‘Pictures Of You’, I once again provided him with the musical fabric and raw materials, and from that point he has manufactured and polished our latest gem with the precision of a Swiss watchmaker.” Talking more about the creative process and influences behind ‘Suburban Ghosts’, he adds “Of course, the massive history of the thriving 60’s, 70’s of the music scenes of both Liverpool and Manchester can not be ignored and would be indelibly stamped on all of us, right the way from the Beatles to 10cc. But that’s only a small part of the picture… I find it is quite difficult to describe in words as it’s a natural creation that comes from our collective hearts. Sure, some might say: technopop, 80’s, electronica etc, but to us it’s much more than a label. This music is made with love. It is a true joint project.”

The Doug Wahlberg Band is:

Doug Wahlberg – Doug plays signature Skeletone guitars, which have a unique body style and explosive tone. Doug has participated on projects with Jose Feliciano, Bernie Taupin (Elton John’s lyricist), Mick Ronson (David Bowie’’ guitarist and producer), Peter Tosh, and original Alice Cooper group drummer and recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Neal Smith. ​​Los Angeles – The R​AZ Band have been toiling in the rock and roll vineyard for longer than you might think. ​Dedicated to the coolest place to ever grow up, ​t​he release of Madison Park introduces ​T​he RAZ Band to ​a wider ​mainstream audience ​a​nd ​is their breakout album. Band leader Michael ​Raz Rescigno says: “​I’m excited to get our newest album​,​​ ​’Madison Park’ out. ​It’s a​​ diverse​ collection of music from the last ​few years of our lives. The album ​is ​dedicated to the ​New Jersey ​town where ​Raz and his musical partner Hutch grew up. Raz recalls, “Madison Park was a great place to grow up and we have many happy memories from that time of our lives​.​ With that in mind we​ ​created an album that when someone hears it for the first time, the music already feels familiar. Songs that make you smile. ​Music​ that you’ll want to listen to over and over.”​

​This is ​the first Raz ​album created with music legends Joey Molland (Badfinger) & Joe Vitale (Joe Walsh/Crosby, Stills & Nash/The Eagles) as ​full ​band members. While​ they’ve been recording​ together​ for years, this is the first album that was planned to be a​ RAZ​ ​Band album and not a RAZ album, hence, “The RAZ Band”.
​
​The catalyst that led to the Madison Park album was a ​RAZ ​show​ at The Whisky​ A Go Go​ in Hollywood. Their guest performers were Joey Molland,(Badfinger), Gary Duncan,(Quicksilver Messenger Service) & Carla Olson, (The Textones). Raz​ recalls​, “Whenever Joey Molland ​came to​ LA we ​would ​record​​ RAZ songs. This time we recorded Joey’s great song, ‘Love Me Do’ from the amazing Badfinger album ‘No Dice’. To add to the fun, Gary Duncan was able to join us for this ​recording ​session.

​”When ​Joe Vitale ​came ​back​ to ​LA, ​​ RAZ ​went​ into the studio to record. “We recorded a new song that we wrote, ‘$1.50 For Your Love’. ​​After cutting the back tracks with scratch vocals, Vitale said, ‘This song is a hit song, and let me tell you, I know what a hit song is’. And of course he does, he co-wrote ‘Rocky Mountain Way’ with Joe Walsh.

“A couple days later we ​went​ back into the studio with Vitale and recorded another one of our favorite songs, ‘Shoot ‘Em Up’. This is from Joe Vitale’s great album, ‘Roller Coaster Weekend’.

“Fast​ forward​ a couple of years and we recorded ​many ​other songs I had been writing​,​​ including a very cool new version of ‘Time Marches On’ from the album ,’The Best of Los Angeles 1987′. We recorded some oldies that Hutch & I loved as kids​.​ We recorded twenty five songs in all. ‘Madison Park’ shows many sides of the RAZ musical spectrum and it was made with lots of love and laughs and aha moments.”

Magma has joined up with Jazz Village to celebrate its 45th anniversary with an impressive series of new and classic releases. A series of new and classic Magma titles has been scheduled for release every month from September 2014 to November 2015. A legendary French group if ever there was one, Magma has continued to influence the course of contemporary music since their debut in 1969.

Combining the energy of rock and the ecstasy of jazz, as well as numerous classical influences from Béla Bartók to Carl Orff to the Viennese school, brick by brick Magma has built a unique musical monument that is destined to be a worldwide beacon, as long recognized by their large and devoted following. London, UK – CUTTING CREW has announced details of their first new material for ten years. The multi-million selling, Grammy nominated UK outfit fronted by Nick Van Eede were responsible for one of the biggest hits of the 1980s – with (I Just) Died In Your Arms – and the band’s revelatory new album entitled Add To Favourites is their strongest to date and is OUT NOW on In Like Flynn Records, via Cherry Red Records.

A single from the album – the Jackson Browne/George Harrison-tinged Till The Money Run$ Out – was released on September 4th. With some glorious Californian harmonies Van Eede sings “Now you said that you like to play the field/And I should get over it/But when all of your games got to be revealed/I was the last to hear of it,”

It’s hardly surprising that (I Just) Died In Your Arms is seen as songwriter Nick Van Eede’s greatest achievement and yet this Pyrrhic victory surely masks Van Eede’s subsequent song-writing collaborations with artists including Mika, Pixie Lott, Marillion and Cher.

Add To Favourites, which features guitarists Gareth Moulton and Joolz Dunkley, bassist Nick Kay, keyboardist Jono Harrison, drummer Martyn Baker and the Blackjack Horns, is Van Eede’s “tip of the hat to artists I’ve always adored” – from Otis Redding to Frank Zappa(!)

The album also tackles weighty subjects such as relatives and friends gone too soon (Van Eede lost both his younger brother and his long-time Cutting Crew bedfellow Kevin MacMichael some time ago) on Looking For A Friend and the Berlin Wall on Berlin In Winter which Van Eede performed live in Berlin at the 25th Anniversary of The Wall’s demise last November.

Van Eede has revealed that he wrote “80% of the album under water” and the album’s startling artwork featuring our protagonist emerging as a knight from a swimming pool is inspired by the fact that Van Eede is a supremely gifted swimmer and that several of his friends have suggested he would be able to swim a mile whilst wearing full body armour. A full UK tour – due to take place above ground – is set to be announced in the next few weeks.
