Original Rude Boy Neville Staple Returns As JUDGE ROUGHNECK On His Brand New Studio Album!

Los Angeles, CA – Return Of Judge Roughneck is the brand new album from the legendary Specials & Fun Boy Three founding member, Neville Staple. The album features brilliant new re-workings of classic Jamaican cuts, some brand new material, and a few gems from Neville’s past.

Neville Staple recreates his famous Judge Roughneck character, first seen as part of the “Stupid Marriage” song from the Specials debut album on 2Tone Records. Be prepared for a super ride through classic Jamaican early reggae tunes, ska stomping rhythms and new tracks that fit perfectly with echoes of 2Tone and Bluebeat mixed with Trojan music styles. Part 2 of the album, a full set of bonus Dub remixes, takes you on a dub journey with atmospheric vibes, toasting fun and twisted song versions.

A special video release of the lead track “Return of Judge Roughneck” will premiere on Vive Le Rock’s website to coincide with the official album release date of February 17, 2017 release. Shot by Lee Cogswell and Daniel Thompson (production storyline & casting by Christine Sugary Staple, also featured), at various locations in the 2Tone City of Coventry in the UK’s West Midlands, including the heritage building of the historic ‘Coventry County Court’ (now a restaurant called the Establishment), where Neville was sentenced to borstal during his youth. Further locations include Coventry University’s Moot Room, the local Council Chambers, St Mary’s Guildhall and the Belgrade Theatre. Expect a fun ska dance video filled with Judge Roughneck’s take on the World of politicians, bankers and bullies, along with dancing barristers and cocky jailbirds.

Check out a preview of the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPQS4cEnZ5Y&feature=youtu.be

Female Guitar Shredder Tara Lynch To Release New Single “Trustless” Feat. Members of Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Whitesnake and Alice Cooper!

tara-lynch-trustless-med-res

For Immediate Release

Female Guitar Shredder Tara Lynch To Release New Single “Trustless” Feat. Members of Dream Theater, Yngwie Malmsteen, Whitesnake and Alice Cooper!

Los Angeles – Tara Lynch is an American guitarist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Tara will be releasing her new single “Trustless” from her forthcoming debut album “Evil Enough” on Friday, February 10, 2017. “Evil Enough” is a melodic metal album full of rich guitar dominant tracks, all written by Tara Lynch. Along with Tara on all lead/rhythm guitars, this album features an all-star lineup of high-profile guest musicians including Tony MacAlpine and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, KISS, Alice Cooper, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol) on keyboards, Björn Englen (Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Quiet Riot, Soul Sign, Dio Disciples) and Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, Last In Line) on bass, Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne) and Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper) on drums and the virtuoso vocals of Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen, Uli Jon Roth, Dokken, Dio Disciples, Raiding the Rock Vault).

Says Tara, “Both the concept and meaning behind ‘Trustless’ are autobiographical. I’ve been through life’s toughest moments and have come out on the other side much stronger for it. I’ve decided to tell my story both for therapeutic reasons and also in hopes that it can relate to and offer support to others in the same situation.

“The entire ‘Evil Enough’ album is a musical autobiography. Very often, the term ‘blood, sweat and tears’ is used as a metaphor to describe the work one puts in to something that they are 110% invested in. This would be an accurate metaphor where I am concerned. It has been a tremendously emotional journey into my own soul in order to both write the lyrics that explain my experiences, as well as write the melodies to convey the feelings involved within each experience.”

“Tara Lynch has a beautiful natural vibrato that I have only heard in the very top guitar players” – Derek Sherinian

Primarily self-taught, Tara played both electric and acoustic guitar and wrote songs in her childhood, picking up the bass guitar, drums and piano along the way. Very serious about her musicianship and the unending desire to improve, Tara has personally studied guitar with Steve Vai (Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, Whitesnake, Alcatrazz), drums with Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), bass with Björn Englen (Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Quiet Riot, Soul Sign, Dio Disciples) and piano with Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, KISS, Alice Cooper, Yngwie Malmsteen, Billy Idol).

In 2015, Tara accepted the invitation from Geert Fiew (founder of Belgian band Beyond the Labyrinth) to write and perform guitar solos on Beyond the Labyrinth’s upcoming fourth album, “The Art of Resilience”, to be released in early 2017. At the same time, Tara began writing for her own upcoming debut album, “Evil Enough”.

“Tara is just a pure pleasure and honor to work with. She knows what she wants but yet so humble and grateful. And what a talent! And did I mention sweetheart?” – Björn Englen

Featured performers on Tara Lynch’s “EVIL ENOUGH”:
Mark Boals (vocals)
Björn Englen (bass)
Tony MacAlpine (keyboards)
Derek Sherinian (keyboards)
Glen Sobel (drums)
Phil Soussan (bass)
Brian Tichy (drums)

On “Evil Enough”, all songs are written by Tara Lynch, who performs all lead and rhythm guitars, and on some tracks, bass guitar.

“After knowing her as a friend for many years, I knew it would be fun, but working with Tara is like holding a Tiger by the tail, she is so full of talent and energy, knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to go for it! It was a really great experience!” – Mark Boals

In closing Tara has this to impart, “This album has been a labor of love and an important part of both my personal and musical growth process. At the end of the day, it’s an album that I am extremely proud of and I really hope it touches people out there in the world who can relate to it and that it can help them know they’re not alone.”

Along with the release of “Evil Enough” in 2017, Tara Lynch plans to tour. “Let’s rock!” – Tara Lynch

Rock Music Legend John Wetton Dies (12th June 1949 – 31st January 2017)

Rock Music Legend John Wetton Dies (12th June 1949 – 31st January 2017)

john-wetton-captivity-pr-med-res(photo by Mike Inns)

Rock music legend John Wetton sadly passed away in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 31st January 2017, after a long and courageous battle against colon cancer.

John rose to fame with King Crimson in the early 70s during the iconic Red era and later formed the band UK. In the early 1980s he was a founder member of supergroup ASIA which was his biggest commercial success. The band’s 1982 self-titled debut album was the biggest selling album in the world that year and gave fans and mainstream radio the mega-hit Heat of the Moment.

John also enjoyed a successful solo career, including the seminal album Battle Lines, and formed iCon with ASIA bandmate Geoff Downes. In 2006 the original line-up of ASIA reformed and toured the world several times to promote four new studio albums.

John had been planning to tour with ASIA for the band’s forthcoming US arena tour with Journey and following the success of his solo Studio Recordings Anthology, to continue working on the ongoing re-issue programme of his solo albums, via his own Primary Purpose label.

John valued his over 11 years of sobriety and volunteered time in fellowship with other alcoholics to share his experience, strength and hope with them. John is survived by his recently wed wife Lisa and 18 year old son Dylan, brother Robert and mother Peggy.

The very last studio song of John Wetton’s career was the closing track on the most recent and indeed final ASIA album “Gravitas” and included the profound lyrics “Think the best of me, till we meet again.”

A statement by Geoff Downes:

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, that I have to report we have lost my dearest friend, brother, bandmate and long term musical collaborator, John Wetton, who has passed away after a long and tenacious battle with cancer. He will be remembered as one of the world’s finest musical talents, and I for one of many was wholly blessed by his influence. It was a massive privilege for me to have worked with this genius so closely on our numerous projects together over the years. His bass playing was revolutionary. His voice was from the gods. His compositions – out of this world. His sense of melody and harmony – unreal. He was literally a ‘special one’.

But John was much more than a gigantic and unique musical talent. He was a supremely intelligent man, marked with his great observations and wisdom about life; all couched within his wicked sense of humour. The wit was dark and deep, only fully perceptible to those on his same wavelength. I was fortunate enough to be able to be on that wavelength, and discover that we had much in common. Many of his personal life experiences were reflected in his lyrical contributions to the songs. His heart was always in the music. That was John, through and through. It was always about – the music.

As a person, he was fiercely loyal, loving and generous, particularly to those he cared about. But he could be as stubborn as a mule or as gracious as a nobleman, depending on the mood that grabbed him on any particular day. There were some who couldn’t read his brilliant mind and complex personality. Some found him charming, others infuriating. But however you found John, there was no denying his rare talent as a musician and songwriter was second to none.

Both of us having been brought up with similar backgrounds in provincial England, we shared a love of many things – sport, and in particular – football, English church music, current affairs, comedy, literature, you name it….pretty much everything that 2 kids from the sticks were exposed to in our youth.

Our planets seemed to be immediately in alignment when we first met in early 1981. There was a laddish camaraderie that grew between us as we became as close as two non-related brothers could be. He was an avid reader and film enthusiast, something he pursued with great interest. This helped inspire him to some wonderful lyrics to the literally hundreds of songs we composed together. Back then, we immediately hit the ground running as we composed much of the debut ASIA album together and forged a formidable partnership which lasted right up until now. It was a wholly natural process for us, whereby we could knock out 2 or 3 songs in an afternoon. They were always greeted with our gentlemanly handshake and smiles once we had wrapped up another one in the bag.

Above all else though, his passion for life was to the fore. The battles he endured throughout were immense and well documented. Firstly with alcohol, which he so resolutely overcame, then open heart surgery and finally cancer, which sadly was to take his life in the end. He once observed to me that this disease is a “merciless assassin”. Just another example of his perception and the descriptive language that he was so richly blessed with. He took all of these battles on board with great bravery and almost a ‘laissez-faire’ attitude, tinged with his inimitable wry wit.

To say I will miss my him greatly is beyond understatement. He was such an inspiration to me. We were planning another album, but sadly he was not well enough to complete it. I feel heartbroken about this, as I knew John thought it was to be one of our finest albums to date. I remain as proud as ever of our Wetton/Downes writing partnership. I am hoping one day that I will be able to finish it, and that it will be appreciated by all those who loved his and our music, and most importantly, a legacy he would have been proud of.

Life will not be the same without him. And words are not really enough to describe the loss I feel right now, and the many friends and fans all over the World will also be feeling. It is the end of an era for all of us. But we will soldier on – the music of John Wetton needs to be heard loud and clear from the rooftops.

Dearest John, may you rest in peace brother.

X

Geoffrey

Please join me in sending our sincerest thoughts and prayers to Lisa, Dylan and the entire Wetton family at this difficult time.

A statement by Carl Palmer:

With the passing of my good friend and musical collaborator, John Wetton, the world loses yet another musical giant. John was a gentle person who created some of the most lasting melodies and lyrics in modern popular music. As a musician, he was both brave and innovative, with a voice that took the music of ASIA to the top of the charts around the world. His ability to triumph over alcohol abuse made him an inspiration to many who have also fought that battle. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, his valiant struggle against cancer was a further inspiration. I will miss his talent, his sense of humor and his infectious smile. May you ride easy, my old friend.
Carl Palmer.

1960’s Irish Pop Singer Jackie Lee aka “Jacky” Releases New Compilation Feat. Hit Single “White Horses”

1960’s Irish Pop Singer Jackie Lee aka “Jacky” Releases New Compilation Feat. Hit Single “White Horses”

1960’s Irish pop singer Jackie Lee aka “Jacky”, best known for her hit song “White Horses”, has released new compilation of the same name on Gonzo MultiMedia UK.

“I never dreamt in my wildest dreams that when I was asked by Ben Nisbett and Michael Carr if I would like to sing a little song they had written for hopefully a new TV series about White Horses that it would become so popular. I of course said I would be delighted to do so. I then went to Ben’s office in Tin Pan Ally (Denmark Street, London) as it was known and heard the song and saw the lyrics for the first time. I must say I fell in love with it. We then set the key for the arranger and a week or so later I was in the rather small studio to put my voice to the arrangement that had already been recorded. It was then I decided to make something of this sweet little song. As there were about two tracks left, I used them to double track my voice and put in the harmonies which I knew would work well for the song. Lucky for all of us it was accepted for the TV series and voila, a little gem was born.

“I am quite astounded that my recording of the White Horses theme song is still remembered so fondly and played on the radio so regularly. So many people have written to me personally to recall all the happy memories they remember as children about the series and my recording. After so many enquiries I am delighted that this album has been released with the White Horses recording and tracks from my White Horses LP along with some other favourites of mine.

“It includes one track that has never been released before which was part of an album that I created with Christopher Gunning called Calendar which was very dear to my heart. The Busker was about April showers, the album was never released and to date and The Busker is the only track known to have survived.

“I have also chosen several recordings I made as part of the Raindrops, a vocal quartet with my ex Husband Len Beadle, Vince Hill and Johnny Worth. They all went on to make their own individual contributions to popular music.” – Jackie Lee

Tracks:
White Horses (Stereo)
I can Sing a Rainbow
Things I don’t mean
Well, that’s loving you
We’re Off and Running
I think I like you
Scarlet Ribbons
Who’s afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
Out of sight, out of mind
Too Many Chiefs and not enough Indians
I Cry Alone
The Busker
Will You Love Me Tomorrow
There goes the lucky one
Here I go again
Down our Street
The Locomotion
The End of the World

Jackie Lee is an Irish popular music singer, who has recorded under various names. Lee was a musical child prodigy who became a vocalist with the top show bands playing prestigious Irish venues. She had similar success when she moved to London and joined the popular dance band; The Squadronaires. In 1955 her first solo record was released, followed by two more the next year. From 1959 to 1964, Lee was a member of The Raindrops, a successful quartet who made countless appearances on British TV and variety shows, had a BBC Radio show and released a string of records, the majority of which had Lee as lead vocalist.

Lee went solo in 1965 and recorded albums until 1967. Lee was also a respected session singer, through her groups The Jackie Lee Singers and Tears of Joy. She provided the backing vocals for such worldwide hits as “Green Green Grass of Home” by Tom Jones and “Release Me” by Englebert Humperdink. She was also featured on such diverse recordings as “Hey Joe” by Jimi Hendrix; and much of the James Last catalogue at the time. At one point Elton John was hired by Lee as a member of her session singers. In addition she also sang various songs for film soundtracks.

In 1968, going under the name “Jacky”, she had a UK Top Ten hit single with “White Horses”, the theme from a children’s TV program. Her album of the same name was also released in 1968, which also featured Dudley Moore on piano. By 1970, “Jacky” reverted to “Jackie Lee” and had another hit record “Rupert”, from the TV show based on the famous cartoon character, Rupert Bear. “Jackie’s Junior Choice”, was released on Pye Records in 1971, followed by “Rupert and Other Junior Favourites” in 1973. It was shortly after this she retired, yet remained a respected vocalist!

Greek Music Artist Billy Yfantis’s Experimental Music Made Of A Vacuum Cleaner

Greek Music Artist Billy Yfantis’s Experimental Music Made Of A Vacuum Cleaner

Greece – Greek experimental music artist Billy Yfantis continues experimenting with unconventional sounds that operate as a medium to create electronic music. This time the inspiration comes from a vacuum cleaner, an object which tends to be more useful than you may imagine. Billy recorded the physical sound of his vacuum cleaner and also embedded a futuristic synthesizer to create the composition “Dust Not Found”. The whole result sounds like a psychedelic trip into Krautrock and John Cage’s controversial music.

The track was recorded a few hours after the arrival of 2017 when everybody was outside celebrating the new year. Billy stated regarding his new composition: “I prefer to record the sounds made of objects that end up in the recycle bin of the houses, but boost a personal excitement to re-use them as a medium to create music. Music creation as perceived by most creators is actually a Matrix made by labels and managers. The real challenge is to read between the conventional lines of music commercialism.”

Billy started recording sounds from the late 1990s by experimenting with video game sounds and environmental soundscapes. The next recordings are already on the way and there are also plans for the live performance of the whole concept.

Billy Yfantis holds an MSc in Information Technology (University Of The West Of Scotland) and an MSc in Information Security (Luleå University of Technology), moreover he is the author of scientific articles published worldwide. Technology as a medium and music as a mission led him to experiment with unorthodox sounds and machines since the late 1990s.

Billy Yfantis is playing electric guitar and synthesizer, but prefers to express his artistic dream through the electronic sounds that come from electronic machines. As an electronic musician, he started experimenting with tape mixing and sound design in the 1990’s, although the first official releases arrived later. In 2003 he released the demo “Look What The Cat Mixed In” under the project name of Hanoi Cocks which included remixes of famous Glam songs along with the use of cult movie samples. That demo gained publicity from the local Greek press by being voted as one of the best demos of the month at the Greek magazine Metal Hammer. In 2004, Hanoi Cocks released a second demo with more remixes and personal material.

After spending a decade in science and music studies, he returned officially in the discography by releasing the single “The Missing Link” in 2015. The music style of Billy Yfantis varies from electronica to experimental / avant garde music and he has released four singles until now. Nowadays, Billy experiments with physical sounds of everyday machines such as vacuum cleaners and electric blenders. He considers music as a medium to recycle sounds that end up in the waste bin of the nature instead of becoming an innovative way of entertainment.

Award Winning Movie Score from “Tanna” To Be Released February 10, 2017
Film Now Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film

Studio City, CA – Lightyear Entertainment, the U.S. distributor of the film Tanna, today announced the worldwide release of the Original Score Album from the film.

The Tanna Original Score, composed by Antony Partos, will be released February 10, 2017, through Caroline Distribution, the independent distribution arm of Universal Music Group, on the Lightyear label.

The film, now nominated for a 2017 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, is Australia’s submission to the Academy for that category. It was also nominated for 5 Awards at the Australian Academy of Cinema & Television Arts (AACTA), including Best Film and Best Director, and won the award for Best Original Score. Now that hauntingly beautiful score will be available for digital download and streaming throughout the world. AACTA is considered to be Australia’s equivalent of the Academy Awards.

The film Tanna was released by Lightyear theatrically this past fall in about 35 U.S. markets, and is still playing in some theaters around the country. It will be available in the U.S. for EST and VOD (digital purchase and rental) on February 7, 2017, and on BluRay and DVD on March 7, through Momentum Pictures/Sony Home Entertainment.

The Tanna Original Score features vocals by Lisa Gerrard and cello by Julian Thompson. Ms. Gerrard’s voice was engineered by James Orr. The music was produced and mixed by Wes Chew at Sonar Music in Australia.

Boasting an 82% Rotten Tomatoes critics rating and 94% Audience Score. Tanna has received rave reviews from top publications and news outlets, including the Los Angeles Times (“one of the best films” shot in the South Seas), The Village Voice (“rich in both sociological detail and roiling emotions”), The Washington Post (“performances as stunning as the setting”) and PBS NewsHour (“an amazing film”).

On a remote island in the South Pacific, a young girl falls in love with her chief’s grandson. But when war with their enemies escalates, Wawa is unknowingly betrothed as part of a peace deal. The young lovers run away, but are pursued by warriors of both tribes. With their lives on the line, the star-crossed lovers must choose between their hearts and the peaceful future of the tribe.

“Listening to the score conjures the story of the film in an emotional, evocative way” said Arnie Holland, CEO of Lightyear. “It’s incredibly beautiful.”

Tanna is based on a true story – an event that occurred in 1987 in one of the world’s last tribal societies. The actors in the film are the people of Yakel, on the island of Tanna, who never saw a film before they performed in this one. The islanders are fully aware of the outside world, but have chosen to live according to the ways of their ancestors, after resisting the colonial powers that used to control the area, the missionaries that tried to assimilate them to a Western way of life, and finally the lure of money. The film was crafted in full collaboration with the islanders, and is the first feature film to be shot entirely in the nation of Vanuatu, which is an archipelago of 83 islands and an estimated 110 different languages. The island of Tanna is dominated by an active volcano, which plays an important part in the film, as well as the tribe’s culture. For more information about the film, go to http://www.tannamovie.com .

Terry Bozzio Solo Project 1991:

I’ve never finished it over the years until now, because of technology problems (computer not fast enough to mix – midi & sync problems, & not enough track space to do overdubs etc!) but I always liked the compositional approach to the drum parts! I look at it as a missing link between guitarshop, and melodic drumming & the ostinato! The period after recording the drums included doing the lonely bears & polytown & changing to Mapex, then DW as well.

I have a new track to release. It’s called “Advent”. It’s the first in the Terry Bozzio Solo Project 1991 series. I went into Jeff Burton’s garage studio (he is the son of Elvis Presley’s famous guitarist James Burton!), with Missing Persons’ Live Sound Engineer (who has been my dear friend from the very beginning of that band), Gary Epstein. We recorded my drums on Jeff’s 16 track 2” machine.

We managed to get 9-10 tracks down with a beatbox for a hybrid sound. With no idea of what it would ultimately be, I tried to improvise composed beats along with the beat box and create different sections, based on what felt was natural to do next. I had the concept of overdubbing the music on it later.

One thing we tried right away was to float in some vocal stuff I had done with Patrick O’Hearn in his studio at previous session a year before. The result was very good and inspired me to do more with other previous recordings. At that time I was living near Jeff in Studio City and had converted my garage into a little studio too. I called it White Rooms. I had a 3M 79 16 track 2” machine (bought from Gary Wright!) as well, & some early midi equipment and started to drag the midi overdubs via a sync tone from the 3M. A very slow and tedious process at the time!

But the magic was that 2 of my previously recorded vocal tracks, just done in free space up in Oregon w/ Pat, using my vocoder, synced up unconsciously, but perfectly with 2 of the drum track’s structures! So it was meant to be.

I’m still not finished with all the tracks, but I have 4 almost ready to go, & coming soon! This is the first and it’s called “Advent”. It means “a coming”. Burning drums, Bulgarian Folk Singing, and driving sequencer parts. I hope you like it!

Swedish Prog Ensemble Carptree Recording New Album “Emerger” To Be Released On Reingold Records!

For Immediate Release

Swedish Prog Ensemble Carptree Recording New Album “Emerger” To Be Released On Reingold Records!

Sweden – Swedish prog ensemble Carptree will be releasing their new video titled “Fleeting Deep” in February. The track comes from their highly anticipated forthcoming album “Emerger” to be released on April 7th!

Carptree is a Swedish progressive symphonic rock duo made featuring Carl Westholm (keyboards, composer, producer) and Nicklas Flinck (vocals, composer, lyrics). Although Carptree is a duo they are almost always accompanied by the No Future Orchestra (NFO); A group of people from known and unknown other Swedish acts, who add their personal touch, more or less frequent. This is also the basis for other important people (OIP) who are also a part of the creative process in the making of a Carptree album.

Says the band, “This album was a really slow starter, we started already in 2014 with some of the songs, the first two song was ‘Fleeting Deep’ and ‘Ultimately Lifeless’ which both have taken a lot of different shapes along the process. ‘Between Extremes’ is also a song that has been around in different shapes for many years, first we recorded it in 2009, but was not happy and cut it down to a short version which ended up on Nymf ‘Between Extremes, Prelude’, then rewrote it and planned to release it as a single in 2012 but was not happy with the result. So again we rewrote it and when we recorded it with Jesper Skarin on the drums and Carl rerecorded everything with just his Fender Rhodes and organ and we were finally happy with it. That’s why we wanted to release that song already in May 2016 as a Maxi single to give that special song a chance to stand on it’s own.”

“A coherent jewel of progressive rock” – Metal Observer

As always the duo used the “No Future Orchestra” on the new album, which is a loosely connected group of musicians very important to Carptree. Also on this album Jesper Skarin joined in on drums and percussion and Carl has played some bass and guitars. Except the mellotrons that are taken from a sampler software, all instruments and amplifiers on this album are analogue just as the mix and mastering.

On the CD there will be 8 songs including a remixed version of “Dwindle Into Greatness” (The B-side of the Maxi single released in May 2016) as a bonus track. The vinyl version will have the other 7 tracks and will be release approximately one month after the CD on the FOSFOR Creation label. (Two versions, Black and transparent Marine blue)

“You can´t get better music than this” – Progressiveworld.net

The progressive duo Carptree was formed in 1997 in Stockholm, Sweden, by the songwriters Niclas Flinck, vocals, and Carl Westholm, keyboards and production. Under the years 2001-2010 they released 5 albums and did some live performances. The Album “Superhero” in 2003 was the first to gain a wide popularity among prog listeners around the world. “Man made machine” in 2005 was release both on their own label FOSFOR Creation and Insideout and got an even wider distribution, then followed by “Insekt” 2007 and “Nymf” in 2010 where the latter also was released as a Vinyl LP in 2011 by Ritual echo records. Carl Westholm has apart from this project been a member of some heavy Metal acts like Candlemass, Krux and Avatarium and lately live keyboard player with Tiamat. Between 2008 and 2013 he also released three albums under the name Jupiter Society and has also played on some Declan Burke albums.

The newest member of No Future Orchestra is Jesper Skarin on drums known from Swedish acts like Vak and Switch Open and others. Even though Niclas and Carl writes and produce everything No Future Orchestra is way more than just a bunch of hired guns as they have over the years contributed a lot of creative input and support.

For all of you that long for music with integrity and diversity, open you arms for the “Emerger”, Carptree is back!

He became the first bebop violinist and US jazz magazine “Down Beat” created a violin category for him in its critics’ poll, until then violin was in the ‘miscellaneous instruments’ category. His pioneering work on the electric violin in the 70’s attracted the attention of pop and rock musicians, he recorded with Elton John and participated to several tours and legendary recordings with Frank Zappa’s Mothers of Invention and John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra. In 1975 he founded his own band and became one of the most prominent figures of the jazz-fusion movement in the USA, selling millions of albums that all reached the top of the US charts. Ponty’s most recent album “The Atacama Experience” is considered as one if his best and to this day Ponty keeps touring with his band around the world.

In 2012 Ponty performed his music with Orchestre Pasdeloup for his 50-year career celebration at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, then again with symphony orchestras in Brazil, Russia and Hungary in 2012 and 2013.

In April 2013 Herbie Hancock invited him to perform in Istanbul at “International Jazz Day” for UNESCO. Ponty also founded a new quartet with his daughter, pianist-singer-composer Clara Ponty which performed in France and Germany in 2014. Ponty also performed with the 89 musicians of the Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orcherstra for the Siberian Christmas Festival.

In 2014 Ponty recorded an album as an acoustic trio with Stanley Clarke on double bass and Gypsy-French guitarist Bireli Lagrene, which was released on Impulse/Universal in the Fall 2015.

Jean Luc recently formed the Anderson Ponty Band with Jon Anderson, co-founder and lead singer of British progressive rock band YES, a CD and DVD was released in 2015 followed by a North American concert tour.
