60TH ANNIVERSARY 2LP EDITION OF THE PRETTY THINGS + LIVE AT THE 100 CLUB SET FOR RELEASE ON MADFISH (1st August 2025)

TRANSPARENT YELLOW & RED VINYL IN WIDE-SPINE PACKAGING

Celebrating six decades since their incendiary arrival, this double LP brings together two distinct yet complementary snapshots of The Pretty Things’ raw power and unfiltered spirit.

Disc one revisits their eponymous 1965 debut – urgent, swaggering and unapologetically loud – a record that sidestepped polish in favour of presence, capturing the band just as they were: sharp-edged, determined, and miles ahead of the curve. From the pounding drive of “Road Runner” to the ragged charm of “13 Chester Street,” this is where their reputation was forged.

The second LP shifts to the heart of London, 2010: The 100 Club. Still charged, still uncompromising, the band tore through a set that balanced reverence with rebellion. Live At The 100 Club is a snapshot of The Pretty Things still locked into the sound and spirit they helped define, with original members Phil May and Dick Taylor leading the charge.

Jann Klose Brings NYC To Life In Mesmerizing Stop-Motion Video For “When I’m With You”

New York City, NY – Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jann Klose has unveiled the official music video for his latest single, “When I’m With You,” a joyful, synth-rock celebration of human connection. The video—shot entirely using stop-motion cinematography—was directed by Texas-born filmmaker Sam Casey and filmed on location throughout New York City, including iconic landmarks like Times Square, Lincoln Center, and the High Line.

The visually captivating video is the product of over 2,000 photographs, taken in a whirlwind six-hour shoot. Each frame was carefully captured one step at a time—echoing the lyricism and sentiment of the song itself. Jann’s idea to incorporate the concept of a “Daumenkino” (flipbook in German) into the visual storytelling adds a personal and playful layer to the experience, blending innovation with heart.

“I had this idea of shooting a full-on stop motion music video in NYC and pitched it to Sam just days after we met,” says Klose. “He loved it and jumped on board immediately. It was exhausting but exhilarating, and the result is beautiful. Along the way, we engaged with random fans on the street—something that really reflects the soul of the song, ‘When I’m With You.’

Director Sam Casey embraced the challenge of using stop motion in a city that never pauses: “This is the first project I’ve done using stop-motion, and it was a blast. Jann’s vision for the flipbook opening—his ‘daumenkino’—set the tone. Shooting in NYC with moving elements all around us while controlling just one or two subjects gave the video a surreal, dreamlike quality. You don’t get multiple takes with stop motion, which makes each frame more intentional and alive.”

The single, co-written with Everett Bradley (Bon Jovi, Seal), is a vibrant and emotionally resonant anthem about intimacy, presence, and joy. Everett also co-produced and performed on the track, with production support from Marcus Dembinski, known for his work on Klose’s previous single “Surrender.”

“Now it’s an upbeat celebration with deep undertones of the human connection experience,” says Bradley.

Dembinski adds: “We leaned into influences like 80s synth pop, Billy Joel, A-ha, and the B-52s, and paired them with Jann’s powerhouse vocals and acoustic energy to craft a new sound for him—one that’s bold, bright, and honest.”

With its one-of-a-kind stop-motion artistry, spontaneous New York moments, and heartfelt storytelling, the “When I’m With You” music video is a vivid reminder that joy lives in the little things and connection is always just one step away.

The Moody Blues’ John Lodge ‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’ – Dates Announced for December 2025!

For Immediate Release

The Moody Blues’ John Lodge ‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’ – Dates Announced for December 2025!

Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’ Tour – Featuring Moody Blues Songs from the Classic Albums is heading to California, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma!

John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, has announced more dates for his electrifying new show titled ‘Singer in a Rock and Roll Band’! Dates are already on sale for the North East and Midwest, and now dates have been announced for California, Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma. This will be the first time John has taken his show to many of these venues!

Following the phenomenal success of his ‘Days of Future Passed’ show over the last couple of years, John wanted to now go back to basics and bring a true Moody Blues show to the fans. What are the songs that he loved performing in the Moody Blues, and how could he recreate the sound and the feel of one of these special concerts. Thanks to the incredible musicianship of his band, and his experience of performing these songs over 50 years, John will perform these classic songs true to the original but with an extra dash of magic, evoking joy and nostalgia in equal measure.

It may no longer be possible to go to a ‘Moody Blues’ show, but as Gary Spiller said in a recent review “Check the dictionary entry for ‘timeless’ and evenings like this are right there!”

When John wrote the hit single ‘Singer’ in 1972 it was because people were looking to him to change the world, and his reply was he’s just a singer in a rock and roll band! Despite time marching on, that is still who is he today, and John’s shows will take you on a Moody Blues journey through the hits and deep cuts of this magical catalogue, together with stories and memories of this time.

This incredible new show feature songs from ‘the core seven albums’ including ‘Days of Future Passed’, Seventh Sojourn, and more, plus ‘Octave’ and the triple platinum selling album ‘Long Distance Voyager’.  It will bring together some of the captivating moments of his ‘Days of Future Passed’ show, John’s hits with the Moodies, and, of course, tributes to all his bandmates. This truly will be a show of Moodies Magic and ‘a trip worth taking and remembering’! (Tony Violanti)

Together with Jon Davison of YES and his 10,000 Light Years Band, John will lovingly recreate ‘I’m Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)’, ‘Nights in White Satin’, ‘Ride my See-Saw’, ‘Gemini Dream’, ‘Tuesday Afternoon’, ‘The Voice’, ‘Steppin’ in Slide Zone’, ‘Isn’t Life Strange’ and much more. Electrifying video and lights will complete this incredible evening as the years roll back…

The December dates kick off on December 4th at Cerritos PAC, and end in Austin on December 14.  This will be John’s first solo shows in Austin and Oklahoma City, and he’s delighted to be able to continue to bring these shows to new audiences!

Limited VIP merch packages will also be available, go to: https://www.johnlodge.com/tour.

Following a stroke at the end of 2023, John has gone from strength to strength, driven by his love for this music, and his deeply held desire to ‘keep the Moody Blues music alive’. The critically acclaimed shows are testament to his passion and commitment, and as John says, his hope is that people leave with a little bit of joy around them.

“I’m delighted that we are announcing these dates for December – we’ve been having a blast putting the new show together, and I am so looking forward to the July tour starting next month, and being able to continue it into December. As many of you know California has always had a special place in my heart, and we love performing at Danny Zelisko’s venues in Arizona, plus new venues in Austin and Oklahoma City.

I am a ‘singer in a rock and roll band’, and it continues to fill me with joy to perform for my fans and share this music with them… music that is the soundtrack to my life, and to many others too…”

Iona’s Dave Bainbridge To Release 5th Solo Album “On the Edge (of what could be)” On July 18

For Immediate Release

Iona’s Dave Bainbridge To Release 5th Solo Album “On the Edge (of what could be)” On July 18

Dave Bainbridge’s 5th solo album ‘On the Edge (of what could be)’ is perhaps his most ambitious yet. Bringing together all the elements that have characterised his music since he co-founded the band Iona, ‘On the Edge’ brings 83 minutes of new atmospheric, spiritual and powerful music to the listener that defies genre (a bold claim perhaps, but how else do you describe music that truly merges folk, rock, progressive, jazz and modern classical elements with vocals in both Scottish and Irish Gaelic as well as English?

‘On the Edge (of what could be)’ features a stellar cast of musicians including world renowned drum master Simon Phillips (Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, Toto, The Who, Mike Oldfield, Protocol, Hiromi and many more), Uilleann pipes and whistle maestro Troy Donockley (solo artist, Nightwish, Iona, Auri, The Enid, Midge Ure, Maddy Prior etc), Sally Minnear (Lord of the Dance, Pendragon, Celestial Fire etc), Iain Hornal (solo artist, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, 10CC etc), Randy McStine (solo artist, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree), Ebony Buckle (solo artist, Solstice), Jon Poole (Cardiacs, The Wildhearts, Lifesigns), David Fitzgerald (Iona co-founder), Frank van Essen (Iona, Martin Garrix, Within Temptation, Auri, Barbara Dickson etc), Rachel Walker (renowned singer of Scottish Gaelic folk music) and more.

Exploring themes such as the thin veil between this earthly life and the heavenly, mysterious stories of ancient Celtic saints, the wonder and glory of the natural world, Dave cleverly interweaves these with present day concerns such as climate change and deep societal divisions. However instead of pointing fingers, ‘On the Edge’ encapsulates a deep sense of the sacred and of hope. The hope of what could be in a world of turmoil and uncertainty. Possibly more now than at any point in history, the world needs the artistic community to bring us together and to show us, through great art, just how beautiful and precious this world is, and how much better the way of unity and of love and respect is.

With the combination of this cast of uniquely talented musicians and Dave’s trademark, soaring guitar lines, expressive keyboards and evocative compositions, here we have a glimpse of what could be, in a world that is truly on the edge.

Electric Double Violin, Vocal Master L. SHANKAR Releases New Album “Full Moon”

For Immediate Release

Electric Double Violin, Vocal Master L. SHANKAR Releases New Album “Full Moon”

Released in September 2024, L. Shankar’s FULL MOON presents a masterful convergence of India’s rich musical traditions, with an effortless blending of elements from the southern Carnatic, northern Hindustani and world music systems. Known for his groundbreaking work with his vocals and the 10-string double violin, Shankar delivers deeply soulful melodies in an atmosphere that evokes timelessness. His intricate, celestial compositions are marked by extraordinary improvisations and a seamless interplay between his voice, violin, to create a soundscape that is both intimate and expansive. This album is more than just a collection of tracks; it’s an essential experience for both collectors and new listeners alike, that goes beyond mere listening. Full Moon stands as a testament to Shankar’s unparalleled ability to transform traditional forms into a sublime musical experience, inviting the listener to lose themselves in its ethereal beauty.

The central piece on the Full Moon album is the track Aberi Fantasy. It’s structured like a raga-based improvisation, unfolding in multiple parts — each one reflecting a phase of the lunar cycle. Just as the moon moves through its transitions — from full moon to new moon over fifteen days, gradually disappearing from view — the music moves through a sequence of moods and ideas, seamlessly woven together. Shankar envisioned the entire album as a kind of full moon — a complete circle. Each section of Aberi Fantasy represents a part of that circle. There are tabla solos and instrumental passages, each occupying its own place, as if arranged around the moon’s circumference. The piece, and the album as a whole, is a journey through light and shadow, fullness and absence — just like the moon itself.

Says Shankar, “We only have one life to live, and in times like these, peace, love, and unity are more important than ever. Inner peace allows us to share love and knowledge with others. I truly believe that we are stronger together than we are alone — a team can achieve far more than any one person. If each of us spreads positivity and healing in our own way, that energy multiplies and travels quickly. We can make the world a better place to live in — and music is one of the most powerful ways to do that. Music transcends language; you don’t need to understand the words to feel its impact. Feeling is universal, no matter where you come from.”

“My music focuses on emotions — much like the phases of the moon. The moon moves through darkness before it shines as a full moon. In the same way, we can’t truly appreciate the light without experiencing the dark. Life is like that — full of shifting emotions that connect us all.”

“That’s the story behind Full Moon and the message I’ve woven into this album.”

Track list:
1. Darlene’s Wish
2. Dancing Beauty
3. Aberi Fantasy Pt. 1
4. Aberi Fantasy Pt. 2
5. Aberi Fantasy Pt. 3
6. Around The Corner Pt. 1
7. Around The Corner Pt. 2
8. Darlene’s Wish (Radio Edit)

“L.Shankar, an acclaimed virtuoso violinist, singer, composer and producer who has sold over ten million albums, is a musical pioneer. He embraces with equal ease three idioms of music: Indian classical, world music and pop/rock” – Hinduism Today

Simon Dove, from Bazaar Magazine said Shankar’s “phenomenal capacity for improvisation remains unsurpassed.”

“His solo recordings avoid entirely the excesses of fusion jazz. Instead, they pursue a plangent serenity that, when it reaches the heights …, suggests a transcendence unheard in jazz ” – The Washington Post

“Grandmaster vocalist and violinist, L. Shankar…considered a living legend, has awed and delighted audiences all over the world live and with his albums” – Celebrity Zones

“Shankar’s music is rich & melodic…” SPIN Magazine

“Two Shankars, one Ravi Shankar and one L.Shankar are probably the best known Indian names in world music. One familiarised the Hindustani sitar, the other took Carnatic raga music through his double violin and voice to every known idiom from classical, to rock and roll, to jazz to EDM creating music that defies definition.” — Times of India, 2019

“His solo albums have always drawn not only enormous interest from fans and critics alike but also showcase the collaborative spirit that is integral to Shankar’s art.” – All About Jazz

“Two hundred years from now L. Shankar may be idolized as the new Muthuswami Dikshitar.” – Hinduism Today

Music critic, Kevin O’ Hare from The Republican wrote that “Shankar not only plays with breathtaking speed, he’s also mastered the art of dynamics, letting the instrument breathe and taking advantage of the violin’s full tonal qualities.”

“Music critic Abigail Neufell called him among the greatest violinists in the world.” – India Today

“In Shankar we encounter extraordinary virtuosity, brilliance of tone, and a fiery radiance of spirit.” – Raves the Record Review

Recorded across studios in Los Angeles, Malaysia, and India, Full Moon is entirely composed, arranged, and produced by Shankar. Each track reveals his mastery of both form and feeling, underscoring his lifelong commitment to expanding the expressive capacity of Indian classical music.” – Angel Romero, World Music Central

Music critic Jerry Ozipko described L. Shankar as “having improvised some of the most daring, exuberant, and technically proficient music imaginable” on the violin.

L. Shankar (aka Shenkar) is widely celebrated as a musical genius and legend by his peers, who hold him in the highest esteem. A child prodigy and virtuoso, he is regarded as one of the pioneers of East-West music, enthralling audiences and critics alike all over the world. As an international touring artist with a career spanning decades, Shankar has sold over 100 million albums and achieved international acclaim through his award-winning solo projects and collaborations with legendary artists including Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Michael Jackson, Madonna and numerous esteemed musicians worldwide. Since 1980, Shankar has been using his invention – a 10-string stereophonic double violin—known as the LSD (L. Shankar Double violin)—which he designed to cover the full range of the orchestral string family. His innovative and complex pallavis, featuring unique rhythmic cycles, that he popularized over decades through his critically acclaimed solo albums on ECM Records, have now been adopted by others.

In addition to his classical work, Shankar has released globally acclaimed pop, rock, and EDM albums, and worked on numerous soundtracks for award-winning films, documentaries, and TV series—including The Last Temptation of Christ, The Passion of the Christ, and the hit TV series Heroes. He has released 28 solo albums, the latest being Full Moon and Over the Stars, both released in 2024.

Shankar currently resides in Los Angeles, Malaysia and Goa, India in between tours.

Shankar’s next album is titled “ANSWERS” — a progressive rock album featuring many incredible star-studded musicians including Tony Levin, Josh Lopez, Dave Palmer, Zack Baird, Dileep, Stephen Perkins, Scott Seiver, Juliett Rose, and Jeff Gross — most of whom also played on Shankar’s album “CHEPLEERI DREAM”, released in 2021. It’s a beautiful and powerful album, full of infectious beats, rich grooves, and lyrics, brought to life by amazing players. It’s set to release in two and a half months on Big Dream Records via The Orchard / Sony.

Following that, Shankar has another album titled “Ocean of Truth” — more like a soundtrack, in the spirit of the work he did for The Passion of the Christ with Martin Scorsese and Peter Gabriel. It’s a spacey, dreamy, cinematic album, where Shankar used various raga systems to evoke different emotions. This album will be released on XDOT 25 / The Orchard / Sony, after ANSWERS.

L. Shankar also has an extensive tour schedule — he will be touring India from November to February, followed by tours in the United States, Europe, Australia. Says Shankar, “In between tours, I travel with a mobile studio, so I’m able to record wherever I am — I’m constantly on the move, creating and recording.”

FEATURING AN ADDITIONAL 34 BONUS TRACKS DRAWN FROM STEPHEN W TAYLER’S NEW 5.1 SURROUND SOUND & STEREO MIXES OF THE ALBUM & A VIDEO BLU RAY FEATURING THE JACK BRUCE BAND’S 1971 CONCERT FOR THE GRANADA TV SHOW OUT FRONT & THE 1972 GERMAN TV DOCUMENTARY FILM SWING IN.

INCLUDES AN ILLUSTRATED BOOK WITH AN ESSAY BY SID SMITH.

The album was released in July 1971 and followed his successful and influential album ‘Songs for a Tailor’. Once again, Jack’s intention was to make a record distinctly diverse from the music he had recorded with Cream, and ‘Harmony Row’ expanded even further on the musical palate he explored on ‘Songs for a Tailor’ featuring compositions which drew stylistically on jazz, folk, classical, rock and Eastern musical influences.

Joining the recording sessions at London’s Command Studios were guitarist Chris Spedding and drummer John Marshall, with Jack singing and playing piano, organ, bass guitar and cello. ‘Harmony Row’ was highly acclaimed upon its release and is now rightly regarded as a masterpiece and one of Jack’s seminal works.

This box set edition of this special album features the original 1971 album mix (newly remastered from the original master tapes), along with wonderful new stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes of the album by Stephen W Tayler (from the original 16-track master tapes) and previously unreleased session out-takes and demos. The set also includes a marvellous performance in 1971 by Jack and a band featuring Graham Bond (organ, vocals), Chris Spedding & John Marshall for the Granada TV show Out Front and a documentary on Jack made for the German TV series Swing In, first broadcast in 1972. It also features an illustrated book with a new essay by Sid Smith and is the definitive version of this classic album.

exo-X-xeno To Release Sonic ‘Masterpiece’ Album, “Luminous Voyage,” Featuring Craig Maher, Billy Sherwood, Jay Schellen and Legendary Keyboardist Patrick Moraz

Worldwide release on June 19, 2025

On June 19, 2025, progressive rock project exo-X-xeno launches its long-awaited LP album release into the stratosphere, called “Luminous Voyage.” This epic music adventure features Billy Sherwood, Jay Schellen and Patrick Moraz. The concept album is led by composer, vocalist and guitarist Craig Maher, founder of exo-X-xeno, who also designed the cover artwork.

exo-X-xeno is a musical constellation consisting of founder Maher, bassist and backing vocalist Billy Sherwood (Yes, Toto and Conspiracy with Chris Squire), drummer Jay Schellen (Hurricane, Yes and Asia) and legendary keyboardist Patrick Moraz (Refugee, Yes and The Moody Blues).

The Maher/Sherwood/Schellen/Moraz lineup has already successfully launched as a remarkable collaborative prog rock project with two singles behind them, and “Luminous Voyage” is the phenomenal culmination of musical material. “Craig has a musicality about him that is inspiring and among the many reasons I enjoy working with him,” Sherwood said. “He has a creativity in his writing, he’s not afraid to push the envelope. That’s something I’ve always tried to do as well, and so we had an instant bond when it came to working together.”

Maher’s guitar architecture invokes a polychromatic tapestry of celestial rock sounds, and he invites listeners to “think and feel on a deeper level, to elevate and go beyond the norms of where they wish to go, to paint life’s experiences into each song’s narrative.”

“The record is filled with melody and interesting lyrics that transport the listener to another place,” Sherwood said. “Craig’s guitar chops are off-the-chain good, the guy can play anything. That said, he doesn’t just shred for shred’s sake, rather he comes from a place of melody in his playing. The guitar tones he goes for always fit the song perfectly and enhances it. Craig is a gifted writer and musician, plus he sings like a bird.”

Calling the album a “masterpiece” and “absolutely brilliant,” Moraz said, “The more we listen to it, the more discoveries and sonic explorations there are! Unbelievable!”

About exo-X-xeno

The exo-X-xeno group, which launched at the beginning of 2021, pushes the prog rock boundaries of space and time with expansive, melodious vocals and sonic instrumental layering—all accomplished with a star-studded roster of musical greats.

Founded by composer, vocalist and guitarist Craig Maher, exo-X-xeno is a musical constellation consisting of bassist and backing vocalist Billy Sherwood (Yes, Toto and Conspiracy with Chris Squire), drummer Jay Schellen (Hurricane, Yes and Asia), and legendary keyboardist Patrick Moraz (Refugee, Yes and The Moody Blues).

exo-X-xeno’s first single, “Onward, Love,” successfully debuted on January 15, 2021, to an enthusiastic global prog rock audience. The group’s second single, “Reaching for Beyond,” followed on July 15, 2021, to further high acclaim. Both singles have been aired by various online radio stations worldwide and have received high praise from the prog rock community.

About Craig Maher, Founder of exo-X-xeno

Craig Maher’s musical journey as a composer, guitarist, vocalist, and recording and visual artist is sprinkled with celestial eclecticism. Throughout his 30 years of playing, studying and composing guitar-based music, he released two records, Through the Garden of Temptation, and Propel (2009). He composed the music score for the film Brooklyn Lobster, with Danny Aiello and Jane Curtin (2005). Maher has performed in a plethora of venues spanning from the U.S. to Europe and is looking forward to touring with exo-X-xeno in the near future.

“Craig’s exceptional talent for composing, authoring, guitar playing and singing are at the highest level of an amazing creativity,” says Moraz.

Stay tuned for the vinyl version (two cover art choices, “Flight” and “Infinity”) of exo-X-xeno’s “Luminous Voyage,” mastered by Maor Appelbaum and Ryan Sillifant, Los Angeles, vinyl mastered by Eric Boulanger at The Bakery, Los Angeles, and pressed at Citizen Vinyl, Asheville, NC. “Luminous Voyage” is available for digital download starting on June 19 at the official exo-store webpage and on Bandcamp.

Prog Multi-Instrumentalist Tim Morse To Release Remastered & Expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of His Debut Album “Transformation”

For Immediate Release

Prog Multi-Instrumentalist Tim Morse To Release Remastered & Expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of His Debut Album “Transformation”

Prog multi-instrumentalist Tim Morse will be releasing a remastered and expanded 20th anniversary edition of his debut album “Transformation” on July 5, 2025! Transformation is a concept album about how a person can undergo a series of events in their lifetime that will ultimately leave him/her transformed as a result of the experience. However, unlike many concept albums, the songs on Transformation can be listened to and enjoyed separately outside of the whole album/concept.

Says Tim, “At the end of last year (producer) Mark Dean and I were observing that 2025 would be the 20th anniversary of my debut album Transformation. We decided that we would celebrate that occasion by releasing a completely new remastered version of the album with bonus tracks. Mark took on the remaster of the original recording and left me to organize the bonus tracks. I decided to put them into three groups, 1. Associated Recordings (music recorded in that era, but not intended for the album), 2. Live Recordings (live songs from Transformation, along with a cover version of the Genesis song ‘Dance on a Volcano’), 3. Alternate Mixes and Demos. As it turns out, we found that there was over 60 minutes of bonus tracks, making it an essential album for fans of this music.”

“One of the associated recordings became the song ‘Sacred Skies.’ It was originally written and recorded with only drums, bass and a keyboard pad for one of Mark’s guitar students to practice playing different modes. Says Tim, “As a joke my working title for it was ‘Mr. Mister’ because it had a bit of that band’s sound. When the song was rediscovered this year, Mark and I completed it with additional guitar and keyboard parts. I’m very pleased with the hypnotic and spacey atmosphere it conjures.”

The recording of the original album was a labor of love – it was a mission in life for Tim Morse and Mark Dean. They wrote, arranged, recorded and mixed for over a year until it was finished. Says Tim, “I’d often work my day job and drive an hour to his recording studio, where we’d start around 6 p.m. and finish at about two in the morning. I’d drive home in the early hours and then start the process all over again. While that might sound exhausting, I actually found the experience exhilarating. I was finally working with a producer who also happened to be a writer/multi-instrumentalist that could help me realize my musical dreams. For example when I told Mark that I wanted to add a Gregorian Chant to one of the songs, he didn’t bat an eye. It was the first time I was recording music without looking at the clock in the studio, thinking about the recording budget or worrying about any ‘rules’ (musical or otherwise). For months it was just Mark and myself piloting the ship with occasional cameo appearances from other musicians.”

“The first thing we worked on became the song ‘Present Moment.’ I had written the music for it in college and performed it as an instrumental with a fusion band I was in at the time. When Mark and I met, we agreed to finish it as a song with lyrics and a vocal melody. The recording of ‘Present Moment’ became its own progressive rock adventure with layers of keyboard parts, haunting guitar melodies, a 28 voice choir and the incredible lead vocals of Rich Zeller. The live version of this song is the first single from the 20th Anniversary Edition of Transformation.”

Tim Morse began his instrument instruction at a young age and started composing immediately upon picking up the guitar. He later moved onto the piano and studied as a music composition major, writing extended pieces such as a string quartet and two piano sonatas. During this time Tim performed with various rock and fusion bands and played on many recording sessions. Tim’s first album of original music was entitled “Transformation” and was released in 2005. The album was well received by the Progressive Rock community and was recognized as keeping in the tradition of seventies prog-rock yet recorded and performed with a modern edge.

His second album “Faithscience” was released in 2012 and musically it picked up where “Transformation” left off, continuing to explore the best of Progressive Rock. In addition to this release Tim became a member of the Jerry Jennings band and formed The Mangoes with Bret Bingham. The Mangoes released their debut album in 2014 and it was appreciated for its pop sensibility and quirky humor. His more recent solo releases “III”, “The Archaeology Project” and “Soundtracks” were also warmly embraced by critics and fans alike.

Tim’s cover version of the classic Yes song “Awaken” has received the ultimate compliments from members of Yes – Rick Wakeman enthused, “Best YES cover I’ve heard …well done to everybody” and Jon Anderson said, “Great job with ‘Awaken’…the fact you sat around and decided to perform it is a treat…. not an easy work!” Composer/musician Adam Holzman was so impressed by this performance of it that he offered to do his own remix of the song (both versions can be found on Tim’s YouTube channel).

Here’s what the press has said about Tim Morse’s previous albums:

(Soundtracks)

A kaleidoscopic recording that seamlessly shifts from anthemic rock to buoyant Beatles-esque pop to sweeping and swirling kinetic instrumentals to ethereal soundscapes. Soundtracks features literate, observational songwriting that explores the complexity of modern society and relationships, and offers a hopeful view that the positive elements of this species will eventually triumph.” – Anil Prasad, Innerviews

I find I want to listen more and more. Soundtracks is a very engaging album and Tim Morse is a writer and player with lots to say. Buy this right now!” – John Wilcox, Progsheet

A pleasant album that offers a lot for fans of progressive rock that’s on the mellow and melodic side.” – Jon Davis, Expose

Taken as a whole, Soundtracks is a pure joy. I can’t wait to play it again.” – Michale Popke, Sea of Tranquility

This album could appeal to fans of Barclay James Harvest, Strawbs, Anthony Phillips, Ken Baird or even Tim Bowness (sans the breathy vocals). I also hear vague but reminiscent snippets here and there from The Beatles which is fine by me.” – Greg Cummins, DPRP

When the piano-encrusted “Deidra” and “Lullaby” arrive at the scene with a six-string lace in tow to wind things down in the most tender manner, the glacially romantic, yet robustly dynamic, “Vortex” is left hanging in the ether to finally suck the spectator in Tim Morse’s universe. It’s the place to be.” – Dmitry M. Epstein, DME

It’s high quality and works well. It would probably be a highlight of many artists’ catalog.” – Gary Hill, Music Street Journal

Prog Magazine chose the first single from Soundtracks, “Blueberry Way” as one of its tracks of the week.

(The Archaeology Project)

A well rounded retrospective and a fitting showcase for his musical inspirations and talents.” – Geoff Feakes, DPRP

A great way to discover Tim Morse!” – Music in Belgium

This release is an ideal place to start your exploration of his material.” – Anil Prasad, Innerviews

A magnificent fourteen song retrospective of Morse’s music from 2005-2020.” – Exclusive Magazine

Classy…that speaks to both the quality and the consistency of Morse’s music. I can’t think of a better introduction to his music than this CD.” – Gary Hill, Music Street Journal

(Tim Morse III)

There’s no doubt fans of symphonic prog will find much to enjoy. Recommended.” – Jerry Lucky, The Progressive Rock Files

Musically, ‘III’ is enjoyable – occupying the lighter end of the Yes style spectrum.” – PROG Magazine

Recommended for fans of melodic rock with some progressive touches.” – Jon Davis, Expose

(Faithscience)

Tim Morse deserves to make it into the mainstream, as he surely one of the greats of the genre.” – John Bollenberg, iO Pages

A smartly arranged, melodic-symphonic opus.” – John Collinge, Progression Magazine

Probably the biggest surprise of the year…and highly recommended to fans of classic prog.” – Kinesis

(Transformation, original 2005 release)

Sounds great…unbelievably proficient.” Bill Bruford

“Deftly bridges classic and modern prog.” Sea of Tranquility

“Transformation is a work truly realized, an impressive work of creativity that grows on one even more after repeated listening.” – Andres Valle (Mellotron)

An interesting and expansive collection of symphonic prog songs…it not only rewards repeated listening, it demands it.” – DPRP

Tim is also a published author and his book “Yesstories” has sold over 20,000 copies worldwide. His book “Classic Rock Stories” was published by the St. Martin’s Press and was featured on the Howard Stern show and VH1. He has also written for music magazines over the years including Mix, Guitar World, Keyboard and Bass Player.

Tim will be doing videos and PR to support the release of “Transformation (20th Anniversary Edition).” He’s also working on an electronic music project that should be released in 2026. As for live performance, that is completely up to what happens with interest/demand for shows.

In closing Tim has this to impart, “I hope my fans will check out this new remastered version of Transformation as it has never sounded better. Also, I’m always grateful when anyone takes the time to listen to my music. In this modern age of endless distractions, it is a lovely thing when someone will truly listen to music.”
