Experimental Musician Billy Yfantis Presents the Conceptual Album Reversed Universe

Inspired by scientific ideas from modern cosmology and physics, Reversed Universe explores the fascinating possibility that the universe may exist in mirrored or time-reversed forms. The album reflects theories suggesting that time might not move in only one direction and that alternative universes could exist where the fundamental laws of physics appear inverted.

The concept of Reversed Universe draws inspiration from ideas such as time-reversal in cosmology, mirror universes, and the existence of antimatter counterparts to ordinary matter. Some physicists have proposed that near the moment of the Big Bang, time may have split into two directions, forming parallel universes, one moving forward in time and another evolving in reverse. The album musically imagines these possibilities, where entropy might decrease, cause and effect may appear inverted, and reality itself becomes a mirrored reflection of our own universe.

A distinctive feature of the album is that several tracks are purposefully played backward from their original recording. By reversing the direction of the sound, Yfantis symbolically represents a universe where not only time but also sound itself travels backward. This compositional approach transforms the album into an experiment that reflects the theoretical idea of a time-reversed cosmos.

Vasileios (Billy) Yfantis holds two Master’s degrees in computing science and a Ph.D. in the field of e-government. Billy has been working on music since the late 1990s by experimenting with tape mixing and sound design. He plays digital keyboards but prefers to express his artistic vision through electronic sounds generated by unusual machines and unconventional sound sources.

Over the years, he has experimented with recording everyday objects such as vacuum cleaners, electric blenders, and other unexpected sounds that later became part of his musical compositions. Billy has also authored books on music, business, and science, and occasionally speaks about electronic governance at scientific conferences across Europe.

When the Moodies stopped touring in 2018, John made it his absolute passion to keep the Moody Blues music alive.  John had embarked on his first solo tour in 2015, aided by his great friend and Music Director Alan Hewitt (Keyboards for the Moody Blues), and what followed was a series of tours capturing the music that John described as the soundtrack of his life.  The shows grew from simple shows in small venues, to the extravaganza that followed, with captivating video and lights joining the impeccable sound, energy, and passion that John, Alan, and the 10,000 Light Years Band, brought to this magical and iconic music.

John’s first ‘tribute’ in his show was to his oldest friend, Ray Thomas, with his mesmerizing rendition of ‘Legend of a Mind’.  Soon after he added his tribute to Mike Pinder with his ethereal version of ‘The Sunset’, and very sadly Graeme Edge was then lost. Prior to Graeme’s passing he met with John, and John asked him to record his poem ‘Late Lament’, so he could forever be on stage beside him. It gave John never-ending joy to include it in his show, and take a moment during each evening to stop and listen to the words his friend wrote so many decades ago… The years would fall away as John, together with the audience, would journey back in time together through this timeless music.

At the same time that John was building this stunning show, his daughter Emily met Jon Davison of Yes…. not only did they fall in love (and later marry), but Jon and John became great friends… and over nights spent enjoying each other’s company, they decided that Jon should join the merry band of brothers, and together they could continue to honour the music of the Moody Blues, and that of Graeme, Justin, Mike and Ray.  As John said, he hoped people would leave his shows feeling that something joyful had happened to them.

The years of touring brought so much happiness and created deep and lasting memories for all.  There were a lot of laughs, and sometimes challenges, but always a shared passion for the love of the music, and for those standing side by side on stage together.

During some of the long travel days John and Jon continued to talk and make plans… everything and anything seemed possible as the miles rolled by, and one of the conversations was how much John wanted Jon and Alan to continue the band into the future.

Sadly, this all came to an end one day in October.  For a little while there was silence.  Then slowly Jon and Alan began to talk. Could it be possible to fulfil John’s wishes?  Could they continue John’s mission to ‘Keep the Music Alive’?  The seedling of hope grew day after day as ideas flew between them. They brought in the videographer Andy Clark, a long-time friend and collaborator, and he began work on the video. Jon picked up his bass guitar and began to learn John’s parts… and Alan started making magic Moody Blues music again…

The concert will be a Celebration of John and the music of The Moody Blues. The hope is to bring all the love, joy, happiness, and incredible music that John’s shows were famous for alive.  The set list will incorporate hits and fan favourites, and will include enchanting vocals and visuals of John, together with the angelic voice of Jon Davison, and the incredible 10,000 Light Years Band.  This is a show that will reach deep in the heart, but at the same time, create happiness through the power of music. These two unique shows are planned for now, one near John’s home in the USA, and one near his home in the UK, and just maybe, if the fans enjoy it as much as the band on stage do, more might follow.

As founding member and principal songwriter of The Pineapple Thief, Bruce Soord has spent the last decade steadily refining a voice that balances emotional directness with musical restraint. Set for release on 15th May, Ghosts In The Park, his latest solo album, is his most personal and unguarded work to date: a record shaped by loss, memory, and the quiet spaces that reveal themselves when life continues to move while everything else appears to stop.

Written over a two-year period while Soord was touring extensively with The Pineapple Thief, the album emerged in hotel rooms, unfamiliar cities, and moments of enforced solitude. Against this backdrop, Soord was navigating the drawn-out decline and eventual death of his father, alongside the continued progression of his mother’s Alzheimer’s. These experiences form the emotional spine of Ghosts In The Park – grief in motion, memory surfacing unpredictably, and the quiet determination to keep moving forward.

Acoustic guitar sits at the centre of the record, often captured in raw, first-take performances recorded directly in hotel rooms before being carefully integrated with studio recordings. This tension between fragility and control defines the album’s sound. Tracks such as “Concepción,” “Meet Me On The Downs,” and the title piece were conceived in specific places – Chile, Hamburg, Oberhausen – each location leaving a subtle imprint on the music. Parks, harbours, and anonymous rooms become recurring settings where past and present coexist, intersected by fleeting moments of clarity amongst the disorder.

Performed almost entirely by Soord himself, with bass contributions from Jon Sykes on “Kept Me Thinking,” the album was recorded using a combination of hotel-room captures and studio sessions, preserving the immediacy of its origins. Mastered by Steve Kitch, Ghosts In The Park stands as a stark, reflective and evolutionary companion piece to Soord’s acclaimed previous solo work.

Vancouver-based progressive rock band Brass Camel announce that they will release their third album Brass Camel on April 15th, 2026. The new single from the upcoming album, “What Are You Going to Do”, releases today, March 4th.

The album was recorded primarily at Chalet Studios in Uxbridge and co-produced by Kevin Comeau (Crown Lands). The mix of this new album gets a decidedly more old-school treatment this time as the band had the honour of getting Terry Brown of Rush production fame on board. Says Terry, “Some classic influences here on the new Brass Camel album, so couple that with cool tunes, great arrangements, excellent lyric writing and superb execution by a group of talented musicians – you get great results! Thanks for having me mix this epic.”

This upcoming self-titled record represents both a consolidation of the band’s previous strengths, and an evolution in other ways. Brass Camel is the first album of material entirely written during the tenure of the current lineup. Even the previous album Camel, recorded with the full five-piece, still contained much material conceived during more primordial stages of the Brass Camel project. The band sees this as a culmination of a loose three-album cycle that firmly establishes what they’re about, as evidenced by the cheeky progression of titles Brass, Camel, and finally Brass Camel.

Says guitarist Daniel Sveinson, “Brass Camel is, appropriately, the first Brass Camel record that I feel sounds like a Brass Camel record. We’ve spent god knows how many hours in a bus together, in studio together and onstage together and I’d like to believe that is reflected in this collection of songs and recordings. We were focused, driven and motivated throughout the process and can’t wait to play these songs live all over the country and, later this year, in Europe (and hopefully the UK).”

One goal the band had for this new album was for the lyrical content to be more central to the creative process. Says keyboardist Aubrey Ellefson, “Each track here explores a specific concept or story; from the legend of the Jersey Devil, to a dramatic narration of the Titan submersible disaster, to tackling the can of worms that is AI vs. the creative process, and many more.”

Says Daniel, “This album is more lyrically dense – there’s a higher word count here than our first two LPs put together – and more musically ambitious, weirder and yet somehow more accessible than our previous efforts. There are a lot of subtleties and easter eggs hidden in the arrangements which I hope will make each listen more entertaining than the last! When it’s funk, it’s funkier. When it’s proggy, it’s proggier. When it’s loud, it’s louder. When it’s quiet, it’s quieter. There’s a lot more of a lot more but it’s all Brass Camel. Hope you enjoy it.”

Jo Kendall (Prog / Classic Rock) interviews Aisles on Instagram live ahead of the YouTube premiere of Blue Skies (live at Abbey Road) this Wednesday at 6pm UK

A powerful live performance filmed inside Studio 3 at Abbey Road Studios — a milestone moment ahead of the band’s next studio album.

Filmed during the band’s recent UK tour — which included a highly successful appearance at HRH Prog — the session documents a defining moment in Aisles’ international trajectory. On 17 November 2025, four songs were recorded fully live at Abbey Road, to be released individually throughout the year on YouTube, culminating in a full live EP available on CD and digital platforms later this year.

Jo Kendall, music journalist from Prog Magazine and Classic Rock, was there to witness the session, and she will join Aisles again on Instagram Live this Wednesday 4th of March at 6 pm UK, to discuss the video and performance.

The performance features the band’s current lineup consisting of Boris Seeder (lead vocals), Germán Vergara (guitars, vocals), Juan Pablo Gaete (keyboards), Daniel Alejandro Concha Baird-Kerr (bass) and Alvaro Poblete (drums). The band were accompanied by their long-time sound engineer and recording engineer, Fernando Cubillos, who engineered, mixed and mastered the session, ensuring the performance retained both its raw energy and sonic depth.

The first release, Blue Skies, is particularly significant. Originally the first single from the band’s upcoming studio album, the song now re-emerges in a raw and emotionally charged live setting. The performance not only showcases the band’s precision, chemistry and sonic power, but also captures them performing inside the very room where artists such as The Beatles and Pink Floyd shaped modern music history and both very influential to Aisles’ emotional and at the same time expansive sound.

Studio 3 provides an intimate yet historic backdrop. The video offers more than a live rendition; it delivers a visual and sonic statement about where Aisles stand today: confident, cohesive, and operating at a new level of intensity ahead of the unveiling of their upcoming long-awaited sixth studio album.

Recorded entirely live, without overdubs, Blue Skies (Live at Abbey Road) highlights the band’s tight musicianship and dynamic interplay. The session stands as both a symbolic and artistic milestone — reflecting Aisles’ expanding international presence and serving as a powerful preview of what lies ahead with their next studio album.

With this release, Aisles invite listeners to witness the band at a pivotal moment: refined, ambitious, and fully alive inside one of the world’s most iconic recording spaces.

Stockton, NJ – Crossbone Skully are back with the final blow to their Evil World Machine era, releasing their eagerly awaited new single “We’re L.O.S.T” today (February 27). It’s a raw reflection of Hollywood, otherwise known as the City of Angels, where dreams are broken by the abuse of power.

With a message that mirrors the grit and madness of the world today, frontman Tommy Henriksen describes the anthem as “surviving a ruthless city by becoming tougher and finding your fire to stand unbroken in the face of evil doers”. Guitarist Anna Cara continues, “As soon as Tommy showed me this song, I had to listen on repeat! An incredible song with so much meaning in today’s world.” The video follows Tommy as he prowls through the City of Angels picking up misfits, saints and survivors along the way in search of the Gonzo, with the help of his guide, Sem, and seeing the signs sent by the Bringer of Light and The Sorcerer to overcome the entity Nomastae.

Robin McAuley
Like the most interesting frontmen in hard rock and heavy metal, Robin McAuley has a history of incredible twists, turns, and unlikely collaborators. The Irish vocalist has sung in supergroups featuring members of Uriah Heep, Toto, Survivor, Winger, and Dokken, and with guitarist Michael Schenker. He also became part of an unusual bit of trivia about one of Led Zeppelin’s most famous songs; and, after 40 years in the business, he’s released his own solo material, including Standing on the Edge (2021), Alive (2023), and Soulbound (2025).

Paul Shortino is an American rock singer and musician who has sung for Rough Cutt/The Cutt, Quiet Riot, Bad Boyz, and Shortino.

Alex Ligertwood
Alexander John Ligertwood is a Scottish–English singer, guitarist and drummer. He is best known as the lead vocalist of Santana, with five different stints from 1979 to 1994, which included the US Festival in 1982.

Kevin Chalfant is an American Rock Singer known for his high tenor range and emotion in his vocal performance. Fran Cosmo
In the early ’90’s when Tom Scholz was ready to lay down vocal tracks for Walk On, Brad Delp was not available for the project, so Fran Cosmo stepped up to the plate, or the mic in this case, and started his journey with BOSTON. Prior to BOSTON, Fran Cosmo had been in several bands, one being Orion the Hunter. Currently, Fran is touring and recording with Cosmo, a band he created with his son Anthony. Fran lives in Upstate New York with his wife and daughter.

Stockton, NJ – Todd is a distinctive singer whose vocal style captivates with deep emotion, drawing influence from legends like Vince Gill, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Chris Isaak. Combining Americana, Rockabilly, Country and Blues to create a unique blend that lends itself to his very unique and captivating voice.

His latest album, Desperado, features a mix of original songs and select covers. The album boasts an impressive lineup of musicians, including the late, great Danny Gatton, renowned as an American virtuoso who seamlessly blended blues, rockabilly, jazz, and country. Danny’s masterful lead guitar graces many of Todd’s recordings including the opening track “Lonely Lady”, “It’s Raining Again”, and “Come on and Stay with Me”.

Richard Barbieri remains one of contemporary music’s most distinctive voices. Emerging as a key architect of the late ’70s/’80s synthesiser revolution with David Sylvian’s art-rock ensemble Japan, his visionary synthesiser programming expanded the horizons of electronic music and left a lasting mark on artists from The Human League and Duran Duran to Gary Numan and Talk Talk. His subsequent and ongoing tenure with Steven Wilson’s legendary progressive outfit Porcupine Tree across albums such as In Absentia (2002), Fear Of A Blank Planet (2007) and, most recently, Closure/Continuation (2022) further affirmed his status as one of the most intuitive and unique musicians of his generation.

The album finds Barbieri at the height of his powers, his deft keyboard and sonic architecture conjuring a shadowy, creeping Lovecraftian atmosphere. The music wanders through the streets of a gloomy lamp-lit Victorian London and drifts into grain-speckled snapshots of Belle Époque Paris. These journeys into the past are contrasted with nihilistic but euphoric forays into the future, “Traveler” and “A New Simulation” bristling with the itchy modern anxiety that often runs through his best work.

Contrasting the sound designs and electronics of Barbieri, the album features performances from renowned musicians Morgan Agren (drums and percussion), Percy Jones (bass guitar) and Luca Calabrese (trumpet).

ARGOVIA RELEASES THE SINGLE EBB & FLOW FEATURING ROSS JENNINGS OF HAKEN

The Colombian band Argovia, one of the most distinctive voices in Latin American progressive rock, releases their new single Ebb & Flow, out today on all digital platforms. The track is the third preview of the band’s upcoming album Primal Repetition, due in 2026, and features a special collaboration with Ross Jennings, vocalist of Haken.

Ebb & Flow explores a confrontation with one’s own fragile and defeatist side, initially perceived as an external, alien voice. As the song unfolds, this dialogue is revealed to be an internal process—a conversation with personal vulnerability. The lyrics reflect on how life can push us to the edge and cause us to forget what is essential—seeing, listening, and being—and suggest that only by accepting both light and shadow it is possible to move forward, fight to be truly alive, and regain balance.

To reinforce this ambiguity between the internal and the external, the band chose to approach the song as a vocal duet, a device they have long been drawn to and previously explored on their Who We Are EP. From there, the idea emerged to invite Ross Jennings to take part in the song and develop this concept on both a vocal and emotional level.

“Haken is one of the most important bands within the progressive genre and one of our favourites. Ross is one of my musical heroes. Working with him is a dream come true and he is an incredible singer. We wanted to challenge ourselves and show that we are a band capable of aiming for that level and building something bigger than we ever imagined,” says Ani Guillén, Argovia’s vocalist and guitarist.

Jennings recorded an initial vocal demo remotely while touring with Haken during Cruise to the Edge 2025, working from an improvised studio set up in his cabin. After this first exchange, he recorded the final vocal takes upon returning to the United Kingdom.

“I connected deeply with this particular song and I’m very happy with the result. Argovia deserves more attention than they’re currently getting. I think it’s a great song, with really deep lyrics, and I hope you enjoy this other side of me, adding my voice alongside Ani’s. I hope you like the song. Listen to it now. Produced by Argovia alongside Germán Vergara (Aisles), mixed by Fernando Cubillos (Aisles, Helloween, Mark Farner) and mastered by Steve Kitch (The Pineapple Thief), Ebb & Flow unfolds through an immersive and melancholic soundscape built on layers of synthesizers and a once-again prominent bass, gradually leading toward a tribal climax driven by Afro–Latin-rooted percussion. This moment serves as a reminder of what is essential: returning to being, seeing, and listening.

According to the band, “Ebb & Flow is the conceptual epitome of Primal Repetition and is probably the song that sets the thematic pulse of the album. The ebb and flow does not propose a definitive way out of the cycle, but rather the acceptance that this repetition is part of the human experience.”
