Experimental Electronic Music Artist Billy Yfantis Releases The Otherworldly Music Album “Birds in Space” Featuring Real Bird Sounds!

For Immediate Release

Experimental Electronic Music Artist Billy Yfantis Releases The Otherworldly Music AlbumBirds in Space” Featuring Real Bird Sounds!

An album consisting of 27 Experimental compositions inspired by Astronomy and artists like Tangerine Dream, Vangelis, and Cluster.

Athens, Greece – Experimental musician and author Billy Yfantis releases his new digital album “Birds in Space.” The album consists of 27 experimental tracks that explore space from a musical and conceptual perspective. The concept refers to a flock of birds that travel in space among various space objects (clusters and galaxies). The album’s song titles refer to real space objects that exist in the science of astronomy. Trivia: The “Birds in Space” track is a 30 minute psychedelic composition that includes real bird sounds, recorded somewhere in Athens, Greece!

Billy Yfantis commented on the release: “In a world full of music stars, if you really want to find the next real star, then just switch off the TV, pick up the telescope, and look up to the sky, where the real space objects exist and surround our planet. Astronomy and music, according to Plato, are “twinned” disciplines of sensuous perception: astronomy is for the eyes, and music is for the ears. The goal of this album is to feed your eyes and ears with sensuous food for thought.”

Billy is currently working on his next album, with a scheduled release in late 2023. Stay tuned for more information!

About Billy Yfantis
Vasileios (Billy) Yfantis holds 2 Master Degrees in Information Technology and is a Ph.D. candidate in the University of West Attica by conducting research on e-government. Billy has been working on music since the late 1990s by experimenting with tape mixing and sound design. Billy is playing digital keyboards, but prefers to express his artistic dream through the electronic sounds that come from unusual machines. He has experimented with the recording of vacuum cleaners, electric blenders and other strange sounds that have resulted in musical releases. Moreover, Billy has authored books on music, business and science while from times to times he speaks about the electronic governance at scientific conferences all over Europe.

Famous Quotes (What Others Have Said)

Krautrock legend Harald Grosskopf (Ash Ra Tempel, Klaus Schulze, Cosmic Jokers): “I always like electronic music made by younger musicians who consequently follow their personal instinct, rather than trying to copy what’s already been made in the past, in the spirit of: Whenever you meet Buddha kill him. Keep on tracking Billy!”

Tom McLoughlin (Director of the movie “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives”): “I really dug his music!! VERY cool stuff!!”

Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep): “I like the track ‘Waiting for the battle.’ Great riff. I can see this as soundtracks to Psycho – punk movies and the like.”

Bobby Borg, (Music Business Author, Consultant, Professor): “This is fkn bad ass music that everyone needs to hear… imagine the coolest meditation music out there and the coolest sci-fi movie soundtrack rolled into one! Stream it and trip out today.”

Steve Whitfield (Producer and engineer of The Cure, The Mission UK): “This music is crying out to be used in films but at the same time it’s great to just sit back, listen and immerse yourself in them without any moving images and let your imagination run wild!”

Snowy Shaw (ex-King Diamond, Therion, Mercyful Fate): “I didn’t know what to expect when I had this album sent to me by the composer Billy Yfantis. To be perfectly honest, 9 times out of 10 when people send me their new album it makes me feel a bit uneasy and awkward. Firstly because I don’t listen an awful lot to contemporary music and secondly, even less to other metal & hard rock artists due to lack of interest and I don’t wanna hurt their feelings. I don’t mean that in any rude, disrespectful or arrogant way, but I’m into creating my own music, not so much into consuming music of my peers. However, this was something entirely different. I’m not even sure it’s considered music, but it’s the kind of atmospheric and meditative type of sounds that I’ve been listening a helluva lot over the past few years to try to relax and cope with my stressful, turbulent life, constantly on the verge of being burnt out. That being said, I liked it and it made me calm, mindful and sleepy. Presumably the worst kind of reaction my metalhead peers would wanna hear about their new album but in this case it’s probably the best sort of compliment one could get.”

Artists In Their New York Studios – Circa 1960,” a Series of Artists Portraits in Gelatin Silver Estate Prints by Celebrated Time/Life Photographer Ben Martin Now on View at Artplex Gallery.

Featuring photos of Roy Lichtenstein, Mark Rothko, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, Marisol Escobar and Salvador Dali!

Upcoming Exhibition Photosynthetic From May 13 – June 9, 2023. Opening reception on Saturday, May 13 from 4 – 6 PM!

Ben Martin (1930-2017) covered wars, fashion, politics, arts, business and sports for Time, Life, Fortune, People and Sports Illustrated for thirty-three years. He covered Martin Luther King during the Selma to Montgomery Civil Rights March, took the infamous sweaty five-o’clock shadow photograph of Richard Nixon during the Kennedy-Nixon TV debates in 1960 that Nixon claimed cost him the election, and photographed Time’s now famous “Swinging London” cover story. He photographed major cover essays on the 25th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy and 40th anniversaries of Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima, the Mozambique civil war from both the rebel and Portuguese sides and an arctic expedition to the North Pole. His photograph of President John F. Kennedy’s funeral led to a Life magazine cover, and his coverage of Pope Paul’s trip to the Holy Land was a cover feature in Time.

Born Benjamin Rush Martin III in Salisbury, North Carolina September 16, 1930, he became fascinated by photography at the age of eight when his father, a newspaperman, gave him a bakelite “Univex 00” miniature box camera. At age fifteen he founded the first High School News Bureau in the nation, and became a staff photographer at the local newspaper, The Salisbury Post. At age 17, he became the youngest member of the National Press Photographers Association. While attending Ohio University, he became a stringer-photographer for UPI. His photo essay on a traveling preacher brought him to the attention of celebrated photographer W. Eugene Smith and Wilson Hicks, executive picture editor of Life, who offered him a position on the Life staff after his graduation. Henry Luce then hired him as Time’s first staff photographer in the New York Bureau.

Ben Martin is the author of Marcel Marceau: Master of Mime and co-author of A Different World: The Great Hotels of the World.

Ben was married to the actress Kathryn Leigh Scott (1971-1990), best known for her roles on legendary gothic soap opera Dark Shadows, with whom he co-founded Pomegranate Press, a book publishing company. The two remained close friends and business partners until his death February 10, 2016 at age 86.

Ben Martin’s stunning portraits of Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dali, Mark Rothko, Helen Frankenthaler, Larry Rivers and Marisol Escobar, illuminate the pop art, abstract-expressionist and surrealist painters and sculptors that defined the 60s art world,” says Kathryn Leigh Scott, the photographer’s former wife and archivist.

Ben Martin’s Gelatin Silver Estate Prints Collection “Artists In Their New York Studios – circa 1960”, featuring photos of Roy Lichtenstein, Mark Rothko, Larry Rivers, Helen Frankenthaler, Marisol Escobar and Salvador Dali, are now on view in Artplex Gallery.

A selection of Ben’s artworks will be featured in the upcoming exhibition Photosynthetic from May 13 – June 9, 2023, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 13 from 4 – 6 PM!

“Washed Up Drummer” CARMINE APPICE Teams Once Again With Guitarist FERNANDO PERDOMO On A New Album Of Instrumental Rock, Releases First Single & Video!

For Immediate Release

Washed Up Drummer” CARMINE APPICE Teams Once Again With Guitarist FERNANDO PERDOMO On A New Album Of Instrumental Rock, Releases First Single & Video!

Los Angeles, CA – In a recent interview with Ultimate Guitar magazine, veteran drummer Carmine Appice kicked up a dust storm when he lamented the fact that a certain stadium metal group had been relying on pre-recorded tracks in their live show. In retaliation, the bassist for said metal group referred to Appice as a “washed up drummer.” But as a member of numerous pioneering classic rock bands like Vanilla Fudge and Cactus, often dubbed “the American Led Zeppelin,” as well as longtime collaborator with Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck and a host of others, Appice has had more than his fair share of stage experience and knows the kind of chops it takes to command a stage show.

Even now, after 5 decades in the music business, Appice continues to release new albums and break new ground. His most recent project, a pairing with superstar guitarist and producer extraordinaire Fernando Perdomo, is about to unleash a brand new studio album titled Running Up That Hill. Set for release on May 26, the album consists of fiery rock instrumentals, featuring special guest performances by Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth), Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater), Jimmy Haslip (Yellowjackets), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns N’ Roses), Tony Franklin (The Firm), Phil Soussan (Ozzy Osbourne, Vince Neil) and more!

Check out the album’s first single, a stellar cover of the formerly obscure Kate Bush tune “Running Up That Hill” and it becomes clear that far from being washed up, Appice may be just getting warmed up!

Americana Ensemble AUBURN Featuring Liz Lenten To Release “FAVOURITE MISTAKE EP” on April 28, 2023

After lockdown, desperate to reconnect with music, singer/songwriter Liz Lenten spent a year with the TSA (The Songwriting Academy) writing at home, in her Lincolnshire countryside studio, and after a few song assignments (from the brilliant mentors), set to challenge her, she ended up with a whole bunch of new songs….recording initially at home, then adding instruments and musicians via cyberspace in London, Wales, Sussex and even Australia – until sending everything to Nashville to award-winning long-time collaborator and producer, Thomm Jutz, to finish off recording and mix.

The first 4 completed tracks make up the digital “FAVOURITE MISTAKE EP”, which will be released on April 28th. A further 4 track digital EP will be released in September 2023, and a vinyl, with both EPs + 4 extra new songs, will be out at end of the year.

As always, the lyrical themes cover a myriad of emotions – Love, Resignation, Betrayal, Metamorphosis, Yearning…amongst others!

With wonderful contributions from Thomm Jutz (guitars), Mo Pleasure (bass), JB Bennetts (drums), Ruth Elder & London String Group (cello/violin), Eden Parish & Ivan Toolit (harmonies), Will Fowler (piano), and featuring Nottingham-based rapper – Sanka GBM.

“…. it’s Indie-Americana / singer-songwriter….so many different, but well-blended ingredients – it’s beautiful – and very Auburn….…perfect for a road trip playlist!!” – Pat Garvey/CILC

The second digital EP will be released in the Autumn, and finally a vinyl, with both EP’s + extra new recordings, to be released in time for Christmas.

Auburn will be playing some UK festivals summer 2023 – keep an eye on website and socials for info:

Prog Ensemble Kinetic Element Launch New Studio Album “Chasing the Lesser Light” Through Melodic Revolution Records in Advance of Their Appearance at the Winter’s End Festival UK on April 1, 2023

Prog Ensemble Kinetic Element Launch New Studio Album “Chasing the Lesser Light” Through Melodic Revolution Records in Advance of Their Appearance at the Winter’s End Festival UK on April 1, 2023

Melodic Revolution Records is thrilled to announce the upcoming release “Chasing the Lesser Light” by US Symphonic Prog band Kinetic Element.

“Chasing the Lesser Light” is a sixty-minute symphonic prog journey through human’s desire to explore space. From the lunar missions of 50 years ago to the present-day planning for a journey to Mars.

Says Keyboardist Mike Visaggio, “After four years KE has finally completed our fifth CD (4th in the studio) entitled ‘Chasing The Lesser Light.’ We’re also heading for Chepstow Wales in the UK for our first European show, and we’re pretty excited about it. Our guitarist Peter Matuchniak had the idea to do a CD with a concept honoring all the people who worked together to make the Gemini and Apollo launches a reality. Once again we are releasing our project on Melodic Revolution Records and it was released on March 20, 2023 with artwork by Man In The Mountain’s Martin Kornick.”

Five songs cover the past, present, and future:

1) First Stage (6:15) – contemplating space travel, as we learn to fly high without wings.
2) Chasing the Lesser Light (19:50) – landing on the moon, and seeing the earth as one world.
3) Radio Silence (9:55) – the perils of space travel, with the emotional impact on an astronaut’s son.
4) We Can’t Forget (11:35) – glancing back at the moon, as we look ahead to mars.
5) Door To Forever (15:18) – reopening the door to space travel, and to become the Starman in the sky.

The cover artwork portrays space travel as commonplace with a man in a business suit and helmet, as he observes an Apollo launch that brought a nation and the world together.

Pianist/Composer Larry Kutcher Releases Debut Album For Solo Piano “Kindred Souls” Balancing Technical Virtuosity With Raw Emotional Expression

Pianist/Composer Larry Kutcher Releases Debut Album For Solo Piano “Kindred Souls” Balancing Technical Virtuosity With Raw Emotional Expression

Having been a session musician for over 20 years, playing, writing, and arranging on other artist’s albums, pianist/composer Larry Kutcher decided it was time to release his own music. His debut album for solo piano entitled “Kindred Souls” was released on March 1st. Each of the album’s 10 tracks tells a personal story, an audio diary of the highly personal journey that led to this debut release.

Says Larry, “This debut album has been nine years in the making. I first intended to release it in 2014, but then life took me on an unexpected roller coaster ride of one serious health crisis after another. As a result, I had to put it on hold for long periods of time. Each piece on the album expresses a unique emotional and spiritual aspect of my nine-year odyssey. Written, recorded, and produced by me in my home studio, much of this music came through me instantaneously and was captured as such. My best work happens when I get out of the way and just let the music flow through me!”

Larry Kutcher began his musical odyssey with the study of classical violin at the age of six. He moved on from there to the drums and guitar, eventually settling on the piano, with which he could more fully realize and express all the music flowing through him.

Influenced by Surrealism, The Beat Poets, The Firesign Theatre, and Frank Zappa, in particular, Larry also developed theatrical and comedic skills. This led him to recording and performing with Zappa alumni, guitarist Steve Vai. You can hear Larry’s stream of consciousness performance art piece “Little Pieces Of Seaweed” on Steve Vai’s CD/EP “Flex-Able Leftovers”.

An aficionado of Prog Rock as well, Larry helped co-write “The Emperor’s Clothes” with Alan and Neal Morse of Spock’s Beard, for their 2010 CD release of Spock’s Beard “X”.

Larry’s extensive musical explorations throughout the years have helped him become very well versed in a variety of genres including classical, jazz, progressive rock, ambient soundscapes, musical theater, and film scores. He is best known for his powerful and intensely personal solo piano work, balancing technical virtuosity with raw emotional expression.

Plans to release a couple videos and to set up some gigs in the Los Angeles area are in the works and will be announced as they happen!

Progressive Arena Rock Band Days Before Tomorrow Returns With New EP, Releases Video for the Single, “Has Time Moved On?”

For Immediate Release

Progressive Arena Rock Band Days Before Tomorrow Returns With New EP, Releases Video for the Single, “Has Time Moved On?”

Montville, NJ — After a ten-years hiatus, the award-winning melodic progressive arena rock band, Days Before Tomorrow, is back with its long-awaited record, Now and Then Part II: Stories and Dreams. The record was recorded years ago but went unreleased as band members went on to pursue other musical projects. Regrouped and reinvigorated, this explosive set of previously unreleased material—freshly mixed by James Linton (Bobby Kimball)—will stun long-time DB4T fans and introduce an entirely new audience of discerning listeners to another epic rock band worthy of their attention.

With a vibe that is hard rocking and precise, featuring soaring lead vocals and multi-part harmonies surrounded by technical musical instrumentals that almost require the listener to unleash his/her inner air guitarist and air drummer, it’s hard to place Days Before Tomorrow in one basic category like prog metal or arena rock. This is a genre-defying group that appeals to fans of everyone from Kansas and Styx to Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater.

The band is actively writing and recording a collection of entirely new material as well. Now and Then Part I will be released in Spring 2023 and will be supported by live performances and festival appearances (to be announced).

Watch the promotional video here: https://youtu.be/Xa5to-kyKS0

Current Days Before Tomorrow lineup:
Eric Klein: vocals
Scott Kahn: guitars, backing vocals
Derek Davodowich: guitars, backing vocals
John Gale: keyboards, backing vocals
Alain Anthony: bass
Matt Maldonado: drums

History:
Days Before Tomorrow was formed in 2006 by guitarist/keyboardist Scott Kahn and keyboardist Jason Buchwald, who were joined shortly after by vocalist Eric Klein. After an alt rock-styled debut EP that featured drummer Kevin Soffera (Seether), the lineup evolved and solidified around second guitarist Derek Davodowich, bassist Robert “Zeek” Maziekien (Eternity X), and drummer Jason Gianni (Neal Morse Band, Joe Deninzon/Stratospheerius).

With a new focus on melodic progressive rock and arena rock, the band went on to record its 2009 phenom, The Sky Is Falling, with legendary music producer Ron Nevison (Jefferson Starship, Heart, Bad Company, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, and more). Mixed by Grammy Award-winning engineer Earl Cohen (Pink, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston), the album won Record of the Year in the 2009 Los Angeles Music Awards along with numerous other accolades including a Grammy nomination, but the group disbanded three years later after recording (but not releasing) a riveting follow-up record, which has now been released.

Reconciliation among band members left the door to future collaboration open, and in 2022, Scott, Derek, and Eric decided it was time to put Days Before Tomorrow back into action with a few new musicians added to the lineup. Racing against the clock, DB4T have massive plans for 2023 with multiple new releases, videos, and concert performances.

Tomorrow’s Legendary Debut Album Re-imagined by Guitar Icon & Founding Member Steve Howe

Tomorrow “Permanent Dream” Released April 28, 2023

• A fresh new version of Tomorrow’s legendary debut album re-imagined by Steve Howe.

• Post-produced using the technology now available on the balance and edits to enhance and re-present what the band were trying to achieve 55 years ago!

• Featuring some less well-known studio tracks, a new title, running order and sleeve, creating the psychedelic masterpiece they always envisaged.

Previously known as The In Crowd, Tomorrow (Keith West, Steve Howe and John ‘Twink’ Alder) came to fame in the 1967 film Smashing Time. The follow-up single “Revolution”, according to Joe Boyd’s book “White Bicycles – Making Music” in the 1960s asserted the fact that the band’s performance of the song at the UFO Club was the apotheosis of the 60s UK underground.

This re-issue overseen by Steve Howe, contains new artwork by long-time Yes collaborators The Gottlieb Brothers with new notes by Steve Howe and John ‘Twink’ Alder, and has been remastered from the original mono mixes.

PARDON THE INTERRUPTION Exudes Raw Energy and Pure Joy on Their New Sophomore Album HOT N’ FRESH!

For Immediate Release

PARDON THE INTERRUPTION Exudes Raw Energy and Pure Joy on Their New Sophomore Album HOT N’ FRESH!

San Francisco, CA – Roaring out of the fog-shrouded hills of Sonoma and drowning out the chatter, prog-pop troubadours PARDON THE INTERRUPTION (aka PTI) are taking their place and asserting their voice in the storied musical conversation of the San Francisco Bay Area. Available worldwide April 14, 2023, PTI’s sophomore release HOT N’ FRESH finds the band in full stride with nine original tracks mining every corner of the indie-pop-funk spectrum, always with a self-effacing smile and a nod to the progressive rock of the ’80s and ’90s that is the quartet’s uniting influence.

With a powerful energy and a unique sound, PARDON THE INTERRUPTION is a 4-piece fusion outfit that creates original music pulling from genres including rock, roots, funk, soul, ska, reggae, and more. One foot is planted firmly in the past, paying homage to some of the most singular and iconic artists of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. The other is stepping boldly forward, producing original material that is at once nostalgically familiar while also entirely modern and unique. But the nuanced complexity of their music never overshadows the raw energy and pure joy that characterize PTI’s live performances, perpetually keeping audiences glued to the dance floor and ready for more. It’s undeniable fun. It will make you dance. It’s like a perfect pepperoni pizza. It’s HOT N’ FRESH!

Band leader, lead singer, and guitarist David Noble has assembled three of the finest, most versatile session musicians in Northern California, and as PARDON THE INTERRUPTION they have fostered a cohesion that transcends music. PTI’s love for each other and for their craft is visceral. You can feel it. Engineer/co-producer Sean Beresford captured that same energy in the sessions that laid the foundation for the HOT N’ FRESH album, recorded live with minimal overdubs at Calliope West in San Rafael, CA.

David Noble is a San Francisco native who has made stops in Denver and L.A. and is himself among the top echelon of Bay Area guitar-slingers when not fronting PTI with groups like Wreckless Strangers and Poor Man’s Whiskey. As a child of the ‘80s, Noble’s writing successfully synthesizes his love for pop legends like David Bowie, Talking Heads, and The Police with groundbreaking Bay Area art rock/ska artists like Mr. Bungle and Fishbone — deeply personal and deceptively intricate songs sugar-coated with accessible and catchy hooks.

Bassist Rob Fordyce (Peer Pressure, The Ring, Big Brother and the Holding Company) is a force of nature. Yes, he brings the funk, but that descriptor is far too narrow. Fordyce’s propulsive groove and unstoppable enthusiasm are the engine of PTI, the heart and the soul that power the machine, and his explosive chops rival the best the Bay Area has to offer.

Drummer Rob Hooper (aka The Other Rob) may be the most in-demand Americana drummer in Northern California, bringing his gravitas, experience, and rock-solid beats that were honed and hard-earned over decades in Austin, TX, where he worked with Jimmy Dale Gilmore, The Resentments, Carolyn Wonderland, and countless others.

Jamison Smeltz (D8FeX, mRthKon, Ten Ton Chicken) is George’s brother. (Just kidding!) He’s the wild card — the joker — playing an eclectic array of instruments with jaw-dropping proficiency. Smeltz melds the art-pop sensibilities of Bowie and Prince with his shameless love for progressive rock icons like Yes who first inspired him to take up…the saxophone? Yup, that’s Jamison!

With each show PARDON THE INTERRUPTION is demanding the attention of fans of funk, pop, ska, jam, prog, and just plain rock n’ roll. Their new album captures a band at the peak of their skills and creativity, poised to break into major venues and festivals nationwide. Best to catch them while they’re HOT N’ FRESH!
