In 1989 Anthony issued the first collection of this music, “Missing Links” in December 1989 as a limited-edition release. WILLIAM SHATNER Celebrates Release Of New Album With Animated Video!

For Immediate Release

WILLIAM SHATNER Celebrates Release Of New Album With Animated Video!

Los Angeles, CA – The highly anticipated new blues album from pop culture icon William Shatner, simply titled The Blues, has finally arrived! The project has been drawing a great deal of media attention and buzz thanks to the release of two singles, “Let’s Work Together” a collaboration with ‘60s rock legends Canned Heat and a very special pairing with guitar god Ritchie Blackmore on “The Thrill Is Gone.” But now fans can finally dig into the full treasure trove of blues classics interpreted by Mr. Shatner alongside special guests from across the pantheon of blues, rock and country stars including Sonny Landreth, Brad Paisley, Pat Travers, Tyler Bryant and more!

To celebrate the release of the project, Mr. Shatner is proud to present a fully animated video for another of the album’s standout tracks, the wild and ecstatic “I Put A Spell On You,” that also features some superb guitar work from the legendary Pat Travers. Animated and directed by Balázs Gróf, whose credits also include videos for punk rockers Down By Law as well as metal bands Testament and Red Fang, the clip is set in a dimly lit, smoke-filled dive bar where an enchanting barmaid finds herself at the center of attention from her patrons, including a solitary figure who sits in the shadows and speaks the words of the song as a love incantation. This being the blues, however, the magical spell ultimately fails, and the patron’s desire goes hilariously unrequited.

The video is being premiered today at Variety.com: https://variety.com/2020/music/news/william-shatner-blues-put-spell-you-video-premiere-album-screamin-jay-1234791030/

Mr. Shatner shared these thoughts about the song and video “The blues is multicolored and one of the colors is passionate red and the insanity that can stem from unrequited love.”

Garage Rock Revivalists FUZZTONES Celebrate Their 40 Year Anniversary With A Heartfelt Love Letter To Their Home City On New Album!

For Immediate Release

Garage Rock Revivalists FUZZTONES Celebrate Their 40 Year Anniversary With A Heartfelt Love Letter To Their Home City On New Album!

Los Angeles, CA – The city of New York has been the epicenter of American music ever since Duke Ellington told composer Billy Strayhorn to take the “A” train from Brooklyn to Harlem in 1940. Sinatra, The Dolls, Run-DMC, The Ramones – the Big Apple looms large in the works of so many iconic musical artists, but none more so than garage rock legends The Fuzztones. Founded in New York by Rudi Protrudi in 1980, the group became a mainstay in the New York underground before relocating to Los Angeles shortly after the release of their first album, the now classic Lysergic Emanations. From there, they became a worldwide phenomenon with multiple studio albums, an uncountable number of live performances, and a throng of fans who follow the band with a cult-like devotion. But Protrudi & Co. never forgot from whence they came, and now celebrating an incredible 4 decades of rock n’ roll perversion, The Fuzztones have put together a new album of studio recordings that pays homage to their home city. Simply titled NYC, the album features the band’s special twist on classics by The Ramones, The Cramps, Dead Boys, The Heartbreakers, The Fugs, Mink DeVille, Patti Smith, NY Dolls and, of course, Sinatra’s “New York, New York,” which has been made available as a digital single on all platforms.

Stream the single: https://orcd.co/the_fuzztones_new_york_new_york

As Protrudi explains, “New York has always been at the core of the Fuzztones entity so what better way to celebrate 40 years of fuzz than a tribute to the music that drew us there?”

NYC will be available on both digipak CD and limited-edition colored vinyl starting October 16 via Cleopatra Records!

Krautrock Legends Mani Neumeier & Zeus B. Held Release New Album “The Secret Lives”

For Immediate Release

Krautrock Legends Mani Neumeier & Zeus B. Held Release New Album “The Secret Lives”

New Album By Krautrock Legends Mani Neumeier of Guru Guru and Zeus B. Held of Birth Control

This is how a spontaneous project came about – long overdue! A colorful bouquet of ideas, rhythms, sounds, images and stories … They met in 1973 at a Krautrock Festival in Frankfurt – Mani played and was Guru Guru, Zeus was the newcomer to Birth Control on the keyboards. Since then they have met again and again, jammed and played gigs together. Then finally – in the summer of 2019 they went two days to Bernie Michael Land’s Synxxs Studio in Rodgau – a wall of modular synth and wonderful gongs and percussion – this is how the basics of the tracks with Mani’s percussive playing on the “Haken Continuum” and various electronic drum pads came about. Zeus built the chord structures and sequences for this. Then it went to Zeus’ KG Beat Studio in Freiburg, where Mani recorded an acoustic drum kit as an overdub. There were also some outbreaks of poetics – so for some pieces texts were created about the common sound images. Afterwards they started again in Mani’s Odenwald Secret Retreat.

“Discreetly, almost secretly we’ve been putting together a first album – after we’ve known each other as musicians since a long time …”

Released September 18, 2020

Los Angeles, CA – Hot on the tail feathers of last year’s debut album from Hawkestrel, the project spearheaded by former Hawkwind bass player Alan Davey, comes this brand-new album from the quintessential Hawkwind supergroup! Made up of more Hawkwind alumni than any previous project, Hawkestrel is truly the next evolution of this legendary British rock legacy. The new album, Pioneers Of Space, continues the sci-fi adventures with a mix of original compositions and bold covers including the wildly adventurous version of Post Malone’s megahit “Circles” featuring some stellar guitar work from Hall Of Fame nominee Todd Rundgren. And Rundgren isn’t the only special guest here; also contributing their talents are former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, prog legend David Cross, electric violinist L. Shankar, wild man Arthur Brown, MC5’s Wayne Kramer, and lots more!

For a taste of what’s in store, the first single from the album “Day Of The Quake” is currently available on all digital platforms. The track is a complete revamp of a rare early ‘80s recording from Hawkwind’s much loved poet laureate, Robert Calvert. Davey enthuses about the track saying, “From the lyrical genius that is Bob Calvert comes ‘Day of the Quake.’ This masterclass of English poetics gets married up to some up-tempo exciting music I wrote with the one and only Mick Taylor guesting on lead guitar and the legendary Nik Turner on sax. Get ready to rumble!”

Sixties Music Legends The Cyrkle to Release New Recordings of Their Greatest Hits!

For Immediate Release

Sixties Music Legends The Cyrkle to Release New Recordings of Their Greatest Hits!

Opened for The Beatles at Shea Stadium and Candlestick Park!

Studio City, CA – Lightyear Entertainment announces a new agreement with The Cyrkle to release new 2020 recordings of their huge pop hits of the 1960’s.

The Cyrkle opened for The Beatles at Shea Stadium and Candlestick Park in 1966, and were managed by Brian Epstein and Nat Weiss. They were originally called The Rhondells, but John Lennon suggested that they change their name to The Cyrkle, and they took his advice.

Their biggest hit, Red Rubber Ball, was written by Paul Simon and Bruce Woodley, and rose to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lightyear will release the 2020 recording of Red Rubber Ball on October 2, 2020.

The band’s other huge hit was Turn Down Day, written by Jerry Keller and David Blume, which rose to #16 on the Hot 100. This has also been newly recorded and will be released through Lightyear in November.

The Cyrkle were offered another Paul Simon song but regretfully turned it down back in the day. But they have finally recorded The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy) now, for the first time, and Lightyear will release it in January, 2021.

The recordings feature original members Don Dannemann and Mike Losekamp, joined by Pat McLoughlin, Mike Shoaf, Don White and Scott Langley.

Lightyear has quietly amassed a collection of big hit re-recordings by the original artists during the past few years, all released through the company’s longstanding distribution deal with Caroline/Universal Music Group. They include Jay Siegel’s Tokens (The Lion Sleeps Tonight), The Searchers (Needles and Pins), Irene Cara (Flashdance…What a Feeling), Rick Derringer (Rock & Roll Hootchie Koo), The McCoys (Hang On Sloopy), Jay & the Techniques (Apple, Peaches Pumpkin Pie), Herman’s Hermits (I’m Into Something Good), the Shadows of Knight (Gloria), the Rip Chords (Hey Little Cobra), Frank Stallone (Far From Over), and the Beau Brummels (Laugh Laugh).

All of these Legacy Artist deals were facilitated by Rick Levy, veteran manager, music director, band leader, guitarist, and author, who currently tours (when Covid allows) with The Box Tops. Levy was Lightyear CEO Arnie Holland’s college roommate at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prog Music Artist Tim Morse To Release New Compilation “The Archaeology Project”

For Immediate Release

Prog Music Artist Tim Morse To Release New Compilation “The Archaeology Project”

“The Archaeology Project” is a compilation of prog music artist Tim Morse’s music from 2005-2020. There’s no real concept for this release, given that it is a compilation album, however the title and the artwork ties the music of different eras together.

Says Tim, “It seemed like a good time to reflect on the last fifteen years of being a recording artist. It was fun revisiting these songs and choosing what I consider to be the best examples of my songwriting to feature on this collection. I’ve remastered the older songs with Craig Long and I have to say the music has never sounded better. I was so pleased with the work that I ended up remastering more music than could fit on one CD and so I’m offering five extra songs as a download for no additional charge. There is also a new solo guitar instrumental, a remix/new vocal for the Mangoes song ‘200 Yards’ and my cover version of the classic Pink Floyd song ‘Dogs’ on ‘The Archaeology Project.’ I especially like the imagery that Jay Leek came up with for the project – it has a nice ‘Hipgnosis’ feel to it.”

It was an interesting experience for Tim compiling the album and noting his growth as a singer/songwriter. He felt it was nice to be able to offer a cross section of his music and include a real rarity as a bonus download (the first demo he did with Mark Dean – an early version of “Present Moment”). Says Tim, “The Guitar Etude that opens the album includes a bit of a melody that I wrote in my first song. I was never really happy with my vocals on the original version of ‘200 Yards’ and so it was nice to redo the vocal and remix the song.  Lastly, the cover version of ‘Dogs’ is something I’ve wanted to do for years. I’ve always loved that song and it was a fantastic experience to put my stamp on it with a fantastic group of musicians: Bret Bingham, Andrew Glasmacher, Charley Langer and Hope Rogers.”

Tim Morse “Dogs” cover version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXHlUZYDQQI

Tim Morse began his instrument instruction at a young age and started composing immediately upon picking up the guitar. He later moved onto the piano and studied as a music composition major, writing extended pieces such as a string quartet and two piano sonatas. During this time Tim performed with various rock and fusion bands and played on many recording sessions. Tim’s first album of original music was entitled “Transformation” and was released in 2005. The album was well received by the Progressive Rock community and recognized as an original voice, in the tradition of Yes and Genesis, yet recorded and performed with a modern edge.

His second album “Faithscience” was released in 2012 and musically it picked up where “Transformation” left off, continuing to explore the best of Progressive Rock. In addition to this release Tim became a member of the Jerry Jennings band and formed The Mangoes with Bret Bingham. The Mangoes released their debut album in 2014 and it was appreciated for its pop sensibility and quirky humor. His latest solo release “III” was also warmly embraced in 2018 by critics and fans alike.

Tim’s recent cover version of the classic Yes song “Awaken” has received the ultimate compliments from members of Yes – Rick Wakeman enthused, “Best YES cover I’ve heard …well done to everybody” and Jon Anderson said, “Great job with ‘Awaken’…the fact you sat around and decided to perform it is a treat….not an easy work!” Composer/musician Adam Holzman was so impressed by this performance of it that he offered to do his own remix of the song (both versions can be found on Tim’s Youtube channel and website).

Tim Morse “Awaken” cover version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWAIRwpK3Yg

Here’s what the press has said about Tim Morse’s previous albums:

(Tim Morse III)
“Tim Morse III is an engaging, appealing album that seamlessly bridges melodic rock and progressive influences.” – Anil Prasad, Innerviews

“There’s no doubt fans of symphonic prog will find much to enjoy. Recommended.” – Jerry Lucky, The Progressive Rock Files

“Musically, III is enjoyable – occupying the lighter end of the Yes style spectrum.” – PROG Magazine

“Recommended for fans of melodic rock with some progressive touches.” – Jon Davis, Expose

(Faithscience)
“Tim Morse deserves to make it into the mainstream, as he surely one of the greats of the genre.” – John Bollenberg, iO Pages

“A smartly arranged, melodic-symphonic opus.” – John Collinge, Progression Magazine

“Probably the biggest surprise of the year…and highly recommended to fans of classic prog.” – Kinesis

(Transformation)
“Transformation is a work truly realized, an impressive work of creativity that grows on one even more after repeated listening.” – Andres Valle (Mellotron)

“An interesting and expansive collection of symphonic prog songs…it not only rewards repeated listening, it demands it.” – DPRP

Tim is also a published author and his book “Yesstories” has sold over 20,000 copies worldwide. His book “Classic Rock Stories” was published by the St. Martin’s Press and was featured on the Howard Stern show. He has also written for music magazines over the years including Mix, Guitar World, Keyboard and Bass Player.

Tim will be doing videos and PR to support the release of “The Archaeology Project.” He’s also working on a Mangoes EP with Bret Bingham that should be released in the New Year. As for live performance, that is completely up to what happens with the pandemic and the interest/demand for shows.

In closing Tim has this to impart, “I hope that everyone is safe and healthy in these uncertain times. Also, I’m always grateful when anyone takes the time to listen to my music, even if they didn’t like it or were critical of it. In this modern age of endless distractions it is a lovely thing when someone will truly listen to music.”

Ugly Runner’s Stephen Britt To Release Debut Solo Album “Bite A Lemon”

Ugly Runner’s Stephen Britt To Release Debut Solo Album “Bite A Lemon”

Stephen Britt is a singer-songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina. His band, Ugly Runner, put out their debut EP, “Romanticizer,” with Cleopatra Records in January, 2020. It was aggressive and raw, with little room for sorrow or sentiment. The band parted ways during quarantine, and in late July of 2020, Stephen enrolled in school at Full Sail University to pursue a BFA in Creative Writing. Taking a break from music didn’t last long. He began working on what would become his debut solo album, “Bite A Lemon” on August 8th. He wanted to touch on all the aspects of rock and roll that have inspired him throughout his life as an aspiring songwriter. With ”Bite A Lemon,” you get the familiar raw, aggressive, unpolished rock and roll, but it doesn’t end there. The record is laden with acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies, and relaxation, but it never loses the soul of rock and roll. With that, Stephen Britt presents an album that from start-to-finish should have something for everyone.

“Bite A Lemon” was written and recorded at Stephen Britt’s home in Asheville, North Carolina, from August 8th to September 8th, 2020. The album was produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Stephen himself, and while it might show at times, it’s exactly what he was going for. Stephen’s friend, roommate, and local musician, Garett Hatch, is featured on various tracks throughout the 38-minute album playing bass or guitar. Stephen also had his friend and local musician, Ben Survant (Natural Born Leaders), lay down a saxophone solo in the opening track, “Elevator Toe Jam” to kick off the album, and he shows up again in the upbeat soul track, “Left The Party.”

Says Stephen, “Going into the quarantine of 2020, I wanted to create an album with intent. No filler. Of course, that’s the plan with every release, but to really sit down and trim the fat is something I’ve never done. It’s also not something you were able to do in the pre-COVID days, where you go into a studio, record everything you’ve prepared and that’s what you put out. It was nice to be able to sit with the material as I made it, and really create an intentional collection of what I considered the most timeless 12 songs I could write at the moment. I believe the intent of ‘Bite A Lemon’ is to not only be an outlet for me to say some things I’ve wanted to say, but also to pay tribute to the history of rock and roll with an eclectic blend of (hopefully) timeless rock and roll songs.

“My friend and roommate, Garett Hatch, had just released a solo album in August, 2020 (‘A Place With No Name’). I really enjoyed it, and thought I would give it a shot. I didn’t want to use any of my older songs. I really just wanted to write and record an album within a month. At some point during this process, Garett heard a demo version of a song I wrote at the beginning of quarantine called ‘Bite A Lemon’ and demanded it go on the album. It’s the only song from the record not written between August 8th and September 8th, and it’s funny how I considered this track only a ‘throwaway’ back in March and now it’s the title track to the record.”

To support the new release Stephen is currently working on a video for the track “Imaginary World” which he aims to release by the middle of October. He’s still figuring out the live production of “Bite A Lemon,” but with the talent of his friends in the Asheville area, it will surely be a lot of fun!

In closing Stephen has this to impart, “I know there’s a message I want people to take away from ‘Bite A Lemon,’ but I think I’m still trying to figure out what it means to me. The one thing I know is that it’s as honest as I could be without being too on-the-nose. The entire process was a whirlwind of guitars on porches, too many cigarettes, and not enough sleeping. I hope by the end of the album people love rock and roll a little bit more than they did before.”

“Bite A Lemon” will be released online everywhere on September 25th, 2020.

Classic Rock Legends BADFINGER Team Up With The King Of Keyboards RICK WAKEMAN For A Very Special Rendition Of The Paul McCartney-Penned Hit “COME & GET IT!”

Los Angeles, CA – Joey Molland’s Badfinger has been experiencing quite the career revival recently with artists ranging from indie rock icon Matthew Sweet to Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson participating in exciting new versions of Badfinger’s extensive catalog of hits. And now comes one of the biggest hits Molland & company ever recorded – the Paul McCartney-penned pop classic “Come & Get It” reinvented here with a superb contribution from famed piano/keyboard player Rick Wakeman! With Wakeman’s special touch, this tune takes on a whole new life with added melody and bounce, and although Badfinger guitarist/bassist Tom Evans originally sang lead on the 1969 version, Molland ably takes over vocal duties.
